http://www.uproxx.com/tv/2013/07/teen-boy-rescues-abducted-little-girl-is-the-hero-america-needs-right-now/

Quote :
"Last Thursday afternoon a 5-year-old girl was abducted in Lancaster Township, PA. When word spread quickly throughout the town that a little girl had going missing, the 15 year-old Boggs organized a search party consisting of a few friends. On their bikes, they roamed canvassed the area. Eventually, Boggs noticed a young girl in a maroon car with an older man. What happened next will likely be the stuff of legend in Boggs’ hometown.

Reports Lancaster Online:

The car was on Gable Park and turned around when it got near the top of a hill toward Millersville Pike, where Boggs said several police officers were gathered with the kind of cart used to carry an injured football player off the field.

The driver, an older white man, then began quickly turning onto and out of side streets connecting to Gable Park, Boggs said.

The neighborhood is something of a maze; many of its streets are cul-de-sacs.

Boggs got close enough to the car to see a little girl inside. Garcia was nearby.

The driver looked at Boggs and Garcia, then stopped the car at Gable Park and Betz Farm Road and pushed the girl out of the car. The driver then drove off, Boggs said.

Boggs said he didn’t see where the car went.

“She runs to my arms and said, ‘I need to see my mommy,’ ” Boggs said.

Boggs scooped the girl onto his shoulders and began riding the bike toward home, but then decided that wasn’t safe, so he carried her and walked back while Garcia pedaled along, guiding the bike Boggs had been using.

"Rachel Wolf wore white to her fake wedding and had no groom to actually marry. She’s not even engaged.

But the pretend bride had a really good reason. Wolf’s dad is dying of pancreatic cancer and won’t be around for the actual big events in his daughter’s life.

The 25-year-old wanted to prerecord a father-daughter dance so her dad, Dr. James Wolf, can be there in video on her future big day.

“I’m saddened over the fact that I won’t be there for the events of her life. And that’s been difficult on me,” an emotional Dr. Wolf said. Doctors say he has only months to live.

Rachel even created a special invitation and presented it to him."

"We must break away from our regularly scheduled funny Craigslist ad post to talk about one that’s incredibly depressing. Washington-based serviceman Brandon Harker returned from a nine-month tour of Afghanistan to find out that his friend, who was trusted with looking after Harker’s dog Oakley, had given the pup away on Craigslist. According to Harker, via the Examiner, “My friend just said they got rid of him…They never gave me any other explanation. He would say, ‘I don’t know who we gave him to’ and ‘I don’t know their phone number’.”

He’s taken to Craigslist to retrieve the adorable two-year-old Labrador retriever.

I just recently returned from a 9 month deployment. And upon arrival back into the area I found out my yellow Labrador retriever was either given away or sold while I was gone. I was told this happened in May, but it could have happened anytime from February till June. He is good with kids and other dogs. He has a unique coat, on his face he has spots of a darker yellow (champagne) he also has spots of the same color going down his sides and legs. If anyone has any information on this and can help me please do. I am just trying to get him back to me since he was wrongfully given away or sold with out my permission while I was deployed. I will also be able to verify the dog is mine because he is micro-chipped and registered to me. Once again thank you to everyone who sees this and tries to help. If you could spread the word about this issues that would be great as well. (Via)

Let’s find this man’s dog, and arrest his so-called friend for treason.

awww Butler's mascot died and it is sad

he apparently had a blog...
Quote :
"True to the prognosis I’ve recently been given, my health is now in serious decline. I sense the end is near as my heart rate is increasing in an effort to capture more precious oxygen. Frankly, it’s hard work and quite exhausting. I wish I felt better, but I’ve known for a while that my best days were behind me….

I say thank you. Over the last nine years, the Butler faithful have not only accepted me as their official mascot, but your pride in me has also made me America’s Dog. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, no dog has lived such a charmed life.
"

..and a twitter

and then Blue III tweeted ...

OMG, I damn near stayed home tonight working on math (since I took Modafinil, basically prescription speed that I take on alternate days, this morning.)

however, instead of staying home doing math, I instead went to the bar and enjoyed Happy Hour with my friends.

and I'm so glad I did. it was a good time, and also, it would really have wounded me to have seen this comic now.
