Anyone else going, or working out there? I know some people who are working at the fair, so I will probably buy something from their stand.

I can't wait for the Tractor Pull and Demolition Derby!

I just hope I can talk the girl who is going with me to go to the tractor pull. I told her we can eat while watching that and then go to the pig races. Hopefully some more guys come too.

If I'm ever so poor that I have to wait for "get into the fair for 4 cans of creamed corn day" I'll kill myself.

^^I want to see the tractor pull. Talking 2, or 3 girls into doing that for about 3 hours could be tough with no other men there, but yeah I won't complain if I'm there alone with some of the cute girls from my team.

I'm so excited

We're going on the 20th. I was sad to see the tractor pull is the first weekend I've never been to the demolition derby before. Is it worth the ticket price?

We went one year on that day not realizing it was Can Day. It was an interesting crowd that day...

the gluten-free craze has made it really hard to find gluten (essential for bread baking and a "delicious" vegetarian meat substitute) in normal grocery stores. they replaced all the baking shelf space with GF mixes and useless crap like that. grr!

I wish i could go to the fair. I would look at the garden exhibits and the village of yesteryear, and get a roasted corn and a caramel apple and ride the ferris wheel and view the poultry exhibits and 4h and baking/sewing contests. and maybe see the pigs race.

This year will be the year I finally see a damn pig race. Every year we always get there too late and there's no space to actually see the race How early do you figure you have to show up to get a seat in the stands? 30 minutes?

Try to get the pig races like 45 minutes early for a good seat...Bring something to do..it can be a long (sometimes hot wait)

I am so excited..the fair is my absolute favorite part of the year!! and its always right near my birthday!! I am going to try out the deep fried girl scout cookie... and of course I always need Al's french fries covered in vinegar! I am SO ready

The Demolition Derby is the best part of the fair by far. It is well worth the $9 price. It will take about an hour and a half. There are a lot of things at the fair that cost $9 that don't last that long. Sunday is the best day to go though since it is the championship round for 4 cylinder, V6, and V8. They put more cars in the rink on Sunday too. Saturday should be interesting, but it is just heats where the top 2 cars advance to Sunday for the final. They'll probably only have 8, or 10 cars in the rink instead of 17 like on Sunday.

So how long do the pig races take? It says they start at 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. Does it take a half hour, hour, hour and a half?

Aww Sunday I already have other plans but good to know it's worth checking out even on Saturday. Now if the ACC would just announce when the damn Maryland game starts that Saturday
