That very statement shows just how monolithic you think "blacks in Africa" were: In fact, powerful blacks sold the less-powerful, usually from rival tribes, into slavery, because they preferred the European goods to having yet more slaves for themselves.

Also, the main reason Africa is doing as poorly as it is is the legacy of the Scramble for Africa, begun by the European powers shortly after the abolition of American slavery, but with no relation to it.

Up until the 1880s or so, it really was better for blacks in Africa than in the United States.
hell, maybe even after then, because the nadir of American race relations wouldn't be until the 1910s, and the first serious attempts to ensure civil rights regardless of race wouldn't happen until the 1950s
so I'd say that until about the 1920s it was better for a black person to live in Africa than in the US
and of course it was much better during the time of the slave trade, fucktard

UNICEF estimates that the US imports 17,000+ slaves each year. And we're not just talking about adults who come here willingly and then get bullied into unpaid/extremely low paying work. I don't necessarily think this information is critical to this thread's particular discussion, and I definitely don't think it's somehow unique to the United States. But you've said multiple times that slavery doesn't exist in the US anymore, and you're wrong. And boning up on reality might help enlighten your general point of view.
