I know a kid that had rich parents but he filed separately on taxes so he could get on welfare. His parents paid for all of his shit and spoiled him beyond belief. They even bought him an ounce of weed a week in college. He would take his food stamps every 1st and 15th and go to Harris Teeter and buy prime filet (whole tenderloin or the ones in the gold foil packages) and lobster (whole or tails) and just cook it all for his friends. Kid was the biggest bag of douche on the planet.

Could absolutely be real. Food stamp fraud very commonly takes the form of a recipient buying expensive items like steaks and then turning around and selling them to individuals or pawn shops for a fraction of the original cost. This is sadly common

you don't have any clue how EBT (food stamps) work, do you?

irrespective of the resale scam, this is obviously an "abuse" of the system in that they spent (what is probably) a significant portion of their LIMITED funds on "luxury" items...but their funds ARE limited and are not on a point/credit system (wherein all raw meat is equal and you can have whatever you want - sliced deli turkey or cold water lobster - for the same credit)

if that person receives $150/month at the beginning of the month, they just blew through most of it within the first week...they don't get more money until the next month (ie. they're not eating lobster and porterhouse steak every night)

the food stamps system is one of exclusions (where something like WIC is one of inclusions)...it would be prohibitive to exclude some items (but not others) within the same category and they can't do it by cost, either, as all prices for the same product are not equal within the united states

yes, this is annoying and stupid, but the majority of those using the EBT program are not eating lobster and steak on the regular because they, quite simply, cannot afford to based on what the government gives them
