I am not a lady, but I have an opinion.

Stop wearing crew necks under things with v-necks.

This has been a PSA.

I am not a lady. I'll post anyway. I generally do not wear undershirts under button downs/polos/etc. I don't have negative opinion of guys who do wear undershirts though.

Wear v-neck undershirts and you can't see them and still have benefits of undershirt

polyester shirts have too much static, and if you have a hairy chest you looks stupid with it showing out the top of a polo

Dress button down - wear a vneck undershirt
Casual button down outside of work - whatever
Polo - no undershirt unless you're a really sweaty guy

I have gotten into the habit of wearing boring crew necks under damn near everything remotely semi-nice. Mostly polos at work, but the occasional button-up as well.

1 - The A/C in my car is broken and I have leather seats. That shit gets sweaty.
2 - Wearing undershirts allows me to wear my overshirt several times between washings. Maybe that makes me gross, but it keeps my colors vibrant! (Or it allows me to keep wearing the same polo for 6 or 7 years before it finally shits out on me.)

You'd rather have the tuft of chest hair poking out?

Shave it or just trim it down so you don't have any crazy long ones and you'll be fine with a v-neck undershirt.

i don't really understand why you would wear a wifebeater...it doesn't cover your chest, or underarms for people who perspire.

^ i've always through the same thing. it's mostly just extra fabric around your back and midsection.

why?

and y'all with hairy chests-- get some damn clippers. I keep my shit trimmed, or else it looks like i'm wearing a sweater under my clothes.

I used to wear undershirts every day. Then I stopped. Seriously didn't notice a difference at all. My shirts didn't get sweatier, didn't smell any worse. I wasn't colder. Fuck undershirts.

I wear undershirts all the damn time. I don't give a fuck if there's some rules. I let that shit stick out all lop-sided around my neck, too. Every once in a while the sleeves stick out a little further than my t-shirt, too.

Fuck you haters.

I have still not figured out a good way to go with lightweight white dress shirts. When I take my coat off I hate being able to see the outlines of the sleeves, but if I go no undershirt I think my man nips are visible.

I used to think undershirts were weird. Now I think they're attractive. But it's 100% dependent on the person wearing them.

I always wore undershirts (crew neck or v-neck) for years, every time, unconditionally.

Then one day I tried going without. I've never looked back. Fuck an undershirt. I'm sure I'm as hairy as any of you, but that doesn't matter. Own it.

Crew neck all the way. I've always layered my clothes, but I'm now enjoying just a plain t-shirt most of the time. Otherwise, if it's a pollo or button down, I'm always sporting a crew neck undershirt.

I don't like V-necks...

Wear what you like and how you like it. Don't care about what some random chic thinks about it.

This.

I wore undershirts through college and I have no idea why.

I sweat a decent bit and I live in a very hot and humid area....but I would sweat twice as much if I had another layer of clothing on. And everyone else is sweating just as much...if not more. Deal with it.

I have to wear some kind of undershirt or my dress shirts get ruined quick with it being so hot in the summers - V-neck for button down shirts without a tie, crew necks with a tie.

Undershirts with t-shirts are just dumb.
