Doctor Aal-Nubiaimhoteppokorohamz, 27, reported that someone bashed him in the head with a handgun and then robbed him of his .40-caliber handgun, $140 in cash and an Apple MacBook Pro computer, Sughrue said Monday. The robbery occurred around midnight Thursday. Tuesday night, Raleigh police arrested Dominique Marquel McLaughlin, 20, of 1204 Brighton Road, Raleigh, a Wake Tech student according to an arrest report. After questioning at the department’s detective division, McLaughlin was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon for threatening use of a gun and held on a $103,000 bond. “They robbed my brother, but they were asking for (Baez),” said Aal-Nubiaimhoteppokorohamz’s sister, Sonja Aal-Nubia, who called 911. Fermin said Baez went by the rapper name “Joe Dinero.” She said he was well-known in hip-hop music circles and venues that feature rap artists. Baez was 17 when he moved to Raleigh from New York with his mother and two younger sisters nearly eight years ago. Fermin said Baez had worked hard to overcome his disabilities, which included blindness in one eye and a heart condition. He was the father of a 2-year-old daughter.
