anyone have any personal experience re-lacing a baseball mit? I've watched several videos on youtube and it looks complicated, although not impossible. The other option is to send it off and have it done for roughly ~$50 for a 100% full re-lace (heel, palm, fingers, web). I'm leaning towards going that route to make sure it's done right, but wanted to see if anyone has done it themselves.

do you have a certain attachment to your old glove?

if not, just pick up a new one for around $50, especially if it's only something you'll use about a dozen times a year

I play 3 times a week year round. And yes, I'm pretty attached to it. It's a nice glove.

Dec-Feb I won't be playing, so a good time to send it off

I'd much rather get a decent glove re-laced than pay $50 for what would definitely be an inferior replacement.

^,^^ thanks. I should have mentioned that I'm not in Raleigh.

I think I'm going to send it off and get it done. There are quite a few sites online that have good feedback and decent pricing.

theres a Grand Slam in Matthews, might be worth taking it by there if you're in the area just for a price/time quote

i bet you just couldn't wait to use that old joke in here.

i looked into this some more and I think i'm also going to send in my dad's childhood mit and have it restored for a christmas gift. it sits on his shelf in his office at work, which would make getting it out there a little hard but i think it would be a nice surprise. There are a couple people that have done some amazing work with old collectible gloves out there
