I don't get whats so difficult or stupid about it. It's basically a consistent connection to the people you find most interesting in the world

just the other day umphrey's mcgee webcast their show for free at the last second. I wouldnt have known without twitter.

My life is not that important. No one would follow me.

I don't care to hear other people's thoughts 140 characters at a time so I don't use it at all. This is similar to the reason why I rarely check my facebook account. I'm a grumpy old man at this point. If I want to know how you're doing I'll call or email. Sometimes I'll even text. If you can't be bothered to respond to me through any of those methods, fuck you.

you are dead on here. But in terms of the use case for twitter as a whole, the user controls what content is presented to them.

For me it's a replacement for RSS, and integrates social networking. I also follow my friends and vice versa, and we share content that's interesting to us.

I could give two shits and a fuck about what vapid crap celebrities are harping about. But i like having the economist, wired, local news, sports writers i like, and other content pushed to me without having to go out to each entity's site to find the content.

I was a twitter hater for a long time, until i discovered this as a primary use case and have since changed my tune.
