Couple folks I hit the gym with are very religious. Have regular discussions on it during our walk. She (white) mentioned that she already voted for Romney and made some comment like "We gotta get a few Republican votes here, right?". After that we hit the locker room, and they guy (black) was kind of like "WTF did she just assume I am voting for Romney?" 11/6/2012 2:46:04 PM

For the record, Obama was against gay marriage as well. That is, until it proved politically advantageous for him to support it. 11/6/2012 2:50:17 PM

Well, it could have been the converse as well-- that's what we'll probably never know.
Similarly, many politicians who personally support marijuana legalization publicly oppose it because it's politically advantageous to do so. Once that changes, those politicians will likely support it publicly. 11/6/2012 3:00:53 PM

Shit, Romney would probably convert to Judaism if it would guarantee him a victory. 11/6/2012 3:05:38 PM

^ Lame.
One of the truck drivers, a black man, that works at my plant is a conservative. He and I talk politics a lot. I asked him why he's a Republican and he said that when he was in the Army and driving trucks across Iraq that he only had CDs and the Armed Forces Radio. He got tired of his CDs and decided to listen to the AFR and that included Rush Limbaugh.
Initially he figured Rush was just lying and doing what all the liberals stereotype him for, but he started doing his own research and realized that Rush was not lying, merely trying to inform. Ever since he's been a conservative and tries to convince his black friends and family to at least listen to the Republican side of the argument. He says most are so uninformed that they don't even know who Joe Biden is. His family and friends just dismiss him and won't even attempt to listen to his side of the story. 11/6/2012 3:46:18 PM

^^^ lame? I wasn't singling out Romney. Obama would probably do the same. That's why I hate politics, and politicians.
Politicians couldn't care less about the people. It's a job, and they (like most Americans) are willing to do whatever it takes to get promoted. It is no different than the secretary that blows her boss to get promoted to that senior adviser position she had her eye on.

I would love to call Rush out on his lies, but as far as I can tell a typical hour with him consists of 30 minutes of commercials, 25 minutes of him telling us about the shocking news he is going to drop after the break, and 5 minutes spent making one lame ass point that is either irrelevant or out of context.
This is why I question anyone who claims to have learned anything from him. 11/6/2012 4:20:05 PM

There's no point in discussing Rush in this context. He's an entertainer, not even a pundit in my book. 11/6/2012 5:55:28 PM

I'm actually a registered republican, because i wanted to support for ron paul in the primaries because i hate the government. Unfortunately in order to become a delagate i would've had to have driven to durham way too much for to the party meetings. I probably will never vote in the popular election because your vote doesn't mean shit unless you live in like iowa or ohio. I only care about local elections when it affects things i care about (faggot marriage, weed legalization [so you motherfuckers will shut the fuck up and stop wasting political resources on shit that you do anyways])
good troll. you got me
Also, when i think republican i don't think of anti abortion, anti gay or any of that fox newz shit. Core republican values to me are minimal government, importance of local govt, no wars, low taxes, party all the time.
I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
