My first impression on reading that... "he tried to do a standing wheelie for a mile at 300mph?"

I really can't fathom doing 200mph, let alone 300, on a motorcycle even if conditions were perfect. RIP and best wishes to his family.

How so?

If the drivetrain is complete and undamaged $8000 is a great price with all that turbo crap. Nevermind all that other stuff would make it a great donor car for someone that already has an S2000.

It's a god damned totaled pile of shit that's clearly been sitting and rusting away. God knows how ragged out the pile of shit is.

Well.. it's a ~325lb motor. An LS2 is about 450lbs. I don't know if its possible, but it would make for a pretty awesome powerplant for a chaterman or a lotus seven type car.

^ I agree, if it were about 50% off. Otherwise I"m with ^^.

$8k is a stretch for what's essentially a totaled S2000 with some tuner upgrades. Since you can't drive it you really have no idea how streetable this 425HP combo is or even if it runs well under load. Not to mention that the rest of the drivetrain might not be up to that kind of abuse, so it might not be the best to use in a donor car with this engine combo.

You're basically buying an engine that may or may not run well, a drivetrain that's probably not going to hold up to the engine's upgrades, an interior with over 100k miles, and some misc S2000 parts for $8k if you buy this. Oh yeah, and add a ton of labor time to your project because this stuff is still sitting in a wrecked car that it needs to be removed from before you can use it.

Not a good buy for the rare person who has an S2000 shell or the person who wants to build a kit car IMO. If it were $3500-$4000 I'd be singing a different tune though.

Lol. The orange peal paint really brings out about 27% of that asking price. It would be a great car for another Mexican.

When skyscrapers melt cars
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-23930675

Quote :
"A new London skyscraper dubbed the "Walkie Talkie" has been blamed for reflecting light which melted parts of a car parked on a nearby street.

Martin Lindsay parked his Jaguar on Eastcheap, in the City of London, on Thursday afternoon.

When he returned about two hours later, he found parts of his car - including the wing mirror and badge - had melted.

Mr Lindsay said he "could not believe" the damage. The developers have apologised and paid for repairs. [worth 946 quid]

The 37-storey skyscraper at 20 Fenchurch Street, which has been nicknamed the "Walkie Talkie" because of its shape, is currently under construction."

P.S.

The problem is the skyscraper is concave and so reflects light into one localized area on the ground below in the afternoon, blinding people walking by and buckling cars.

This has a lot more pics of the car, as well as cool pics of the pool of light the building creates.
