not a turd loaf, but a baked good...at least, i assume it's pumpkin since that's what it smells like

anyway, it came with a note inviting me to their church during this thanksgiving season

i did not eat or taste it...it went directly into the compost

would you eat a free pumpkin loaf left on your porch by religious strangers?

Were they catholics? That might have been the body of Christ that you just composted.

Praise the Lord! Jesus has returned! As a loaf of pumpkin bread! Praise Christ! It truly is a miracle! Now I can eat the body of Christ!

Amen.

they were baptists...the note was very nice and the loaf did look tasty

but yeah, i don't eat food left on my porch...well, except for the vegetables the old man across the street leaves on my porch in the summer when his garden is going strong...haven't gotten sick from those, yet, and they're delicious

my dogs will probably eat it if i'm not careful about when i toss it out into the compost and if i don't watch them

the little buggers are always eating the compost

you shouldnt just throw random things into your compost, you dont know what types of aflatoxins or disease may exist in the products they used to make the bread

i know, i know...i don't keep a very healthy compost pile

but i DO turn it fairly regularly and SO FAR it's done well for whatever plants we've used it with (namely the roses...they LOVE the compost)

I would give a slice to my boyfriend and wait a while to see how he fares, then if good I will keep the rest for myself

Amen to that - and if it's one thing I have learned, religious people make some damn tasty baked goods. They're all about bribing you into their congregation.

Unless it was from some Jehovah's witnesses, in which case I would not trust that at all.

I wouldn't eat it, but only because it was pumpkin.

If it was banana nut I would have definitely eaten it.

If you cut the loaf, you would have seen an image of the Virgin Mary in the bread crumbs.

I mean if you didn't want to eat it because of some moral objection to consuming their bread with no intention of going to their church, ok i get it

but to toss perfectly good pumpkin bread because someone left it on your porch

ok i get that too

but i still woulda ate it probably
