I am on t-mobile and can't send any pics through sms

Should I contact t-mobile or is there a known fix?

my wife's moto x (2nd gen) is 5.1 and works fine... very frustrating

^ didn't resolve for me. Still can't randomly receive group SMS messages. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I can send group messages just fine mostly. I can also send and receive MMS messages just fine.

When I'm not receiving group SMS messages, weird thing is the message shows up in the conversation from the person who sent it (not in the group), and it says "New MMS to download..." Even if what they sent was just text, and should be an SMS...so I dunno whats going on

Update: I'm receiving group text messages from fellow AT&T users, but with all other providers I get the bullshit i describe above. Not sure if it's the phone/OS or the provider....but imma figure it out soon.

has anyone tried to buy a new sim card from ST? that may be my next attempt, but i was waiting until i bought a new phone (cracked the screen pretty bad last week). advice from ST rep was to factory reset my phone b/c they had done everything they could on their side, but i haven't tried that...

at this point i'm considering switching to another carrier

^ I have not...seems like a cheap test. My next play was going to be messing with the APN settings some more. I'm also going to try putting this SIM card into another phone, but I'm not sure I have a GSM phone to try with.

Can anyone else run this test? If so make sure you can send and receive group texts.

I bought 6 months of straight talk only to find out I'm still under contract. Anybody want to buy the cards? Letting them all go for $240(with tax this saves you almost $50 )

Ah ok. I will say the problem was intermittent for me, it would more than often not work, but there would be the occasional day where it would...but coming into that 6.0.1 update it had been a while since that day. Worked fine ever since.

havent tried group texts again recently so I can't provide feedback other than I had the same issues previously.

I did however swap out my 5 (busted the screen 2 weeks ago) with a 5X last week. Very happy with it so far, though I do kind of wish I paid a bit more for the upgraded storage for music. The first two days I had issue with my sim card (that I cut from my 5) going in and out of being recognized by the phone. However, since then I have not seen that pop up once in the last 5 days or so. If it happens again I'll just buy a new sim.

^^ will let you know - looking forward to a little bigger screen and the fingerprint reader... and of course a clear, non-cracked display again

^ i did go ahead and pay the extra $50 for 32GB, so right at $400 out the door

i also ordered a new nano sim for it, even though i did cut the micro for my wife's moto x back when ST didn't have a nano option - it's worked well the entire time

Does ST offer Verizon service with the same deal as they do AT&T...5GB for $45 etc?

If so has anyone tried it?

Just got ST with my Moto Droid Turbo Two from VZ. Using VZ sim now with ST kit, unable to change the settings for APN to get 4g LTE, they are all grayed out and I cannot add a new APN or obviously change the current APN settings???

vzw fucks mvno's. page plus and all the others I've tried get about 5/1.5mbps even when you're on LTE. verizon's new 5gb for 55 plan seems like the one of theirs to get

This has gone well, I have called moto, the manufacturer of the phone, VZ, the former service provider, and Straight Talk, the current, and they are all telling me to contact one of the other two. Anyone else had ther APN settings grayed out to where they could not alter nor add a new one?

Agreed.

For the purposes of this thread, I recently moved to Verizon proper from ST with AT&T service...it was great for years, but I was dropping/missing many incoming text messages and that's a big no no.

I have a verizon S5 on ST

It worked right out of the box so I never looked into it, but I can't add any APN's either. The "+" is greyed out.

For reference, my settings are:
name: verizon internet
apn: tracefone.vzwentp
mcc: 311
mnc: 480
apn type: default,dun,supl
apn protocol: IPv4/IPv6
apn roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6
everything else: none/not set/etc

network mode: global

FWIW, anytime I deal with ST, I use the chat feature on their website. They say they can't do it, but they can activate/BYOP/etc through chat if you tell them you can't understand over the phone, ha.

You did get the activation kit (with new SIM) specifically for Verizon phones, right? Sounds like you're saying you're using the old Verizon SIM.
