and they've been there for more than 40 minutes

a bunch (more than 20) of black people (yes, they were all black...and loud...and most of them were fat girls, though there were a couple of guys) had been screeching and milling about in our road for more than 30 minutes prior to the cops showing up...they didn't appear to be visiting anyone (they weren't in anyone's yard or driveway, just parked a bunch of cars and were wandering around, yelling at each other) and the only black people on our road are 5 houses down (so i don't know why they were in front of my house)

is this a gang initiation?

also, i'm not the ones who called the cops, though i thought about it...they were so loud and i don't like people in my neighborhood who don't live here (it has nothing to do with them being black, though i found it a little strange since they were ALL black and not obviously visiting ANYONE on our street, let alone the black people who live here)

I have black people yelling in front of my house on the regular. But I live in a "transition neighborhood"...so it's not surprising.

Hopefully in five years there will be bratty, rich white kids yelling in front of my house and I can sell it for a shit-ton more than what I bought it for.

That's probably a racist statement...but it's purely for my economic benefit.

absolutely...if they did not appear to be visiting anyone in the neighborhood

there are parties on occasion (though i've never seen one spill into the street)...everyone immediately around me has been courteous in keeping the noise level down and while folks do usually park along the street in front of the other houses, they're usually on the person's property hanging out

if i had to guess, i'd say it was my neighbors who called...i was taking out the trash and saw them have difficulty pulling into their driveway because folks were in their way and weren't moving

i'm trying to find the RPD report (or what the incident was, anyway), but the imaps program isn't showing any crimes: http://maps.raleighnc.gov/iMAPS/
