I get paid a living stipend with the GI Bill, it used to be that during the christmas break, so long as you were going to school in fall and spring you would get the full living stipend (1100 a month for Raleigh) However, Congress, in their infinite wisdom, decided this was unacceptable so they decided to prorate it so Vets don't get paid during the winter break.

Congress loves fucking over Vets.

Biannual bonus based solely on individual performance metrics. Company barely breaking even but I'm killing it? Thanks for the bonus check.

We've got some small, results-driven contests for the end of the year. One pays out at the end of the year and one will payout mid-Jan. Our yearly bonuses don't payout until late Feb/early Mar.

I wish I was forced PTO for two weeks during the year though. Only day I get off around now is Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Probably why we start w/ 3 wks paid vacation.

WTF, well as long as the GSA can have $800,000 parties in Vegas I guess I'm okay with this.

Christmas bonuses are different than performance bonus. I get performance bonuses, but everyone here also gets a 5% bonus entirely independent of performance for Christmas.

Surprisingly, yes. It's not much, but I'm thankful for it, since I'm not really in a typical position that would receive a bonus.

I get an annual performance bonus on December 15th, its 15% this year, plus profit sharing in the 401k (not sure what its going to be yet) As far as an actual Christmas bonus, we don't get much, 2 chickens and a bag of potatoes and they usually give us something at the Christmas party. Last year it was a $50 gift card, and they had a name drawing for a tv and some other random stuff. Last year we lost a bunch of money though, and this year we made a huge profit, so I'm kind of excited to see what they'll give us at the party.

Year 1: Catered Christmas Party, gift basket, $50 prepaid Visa
Year 2: Catered Christmas Party, gift basket
Year 3: Catered Christmas Party
Year 4: Potluck
Year 5: Potluck, you have to use 5 days of your accrued vacation to cover the scheduled "shutdown"
Year 6: Potluck, you have to use 5 days of your accrued vacation to cover the scheduled "shutdown", move the office making everyone's commute 3x (or more) as long

Pretty sure next year will involve a red hot poker.

I got an annual Christmas bonus when I lived in NYC. So did everyone else I knew up there.

Down here I get nothing, and so does everyone else. "yay South!"
