By which metric? I did not expect this kind of ommission from someone who posts DEs on here and talks about tetrachromatic humans (they found them, btw; female relatives of color blind men).
Having said that, regardless of which metric you use, whole milk is never 8% fat. (more like 4%)
by mass: ~ b/w 3.25% and 4% fat
by volume: ~ b/w 3.5% and 4.5% fat
by calories: ~ b/w 47% and 53% fat
Quote : | "like I've seen 1% and 4% before" |
Yeah, that 4% is the whole milk, as 2% has half the fat of whole milk. And so 1% would have quarter the fat. Those are fat percentages by mass.
^ almonds don't have teats
i love almond milk, though, and hazelnut milk spelt milk oat milk millet milk.

In the US, whole milk is 3.25% fat. That's the standard.

^^not really... i.e. blueberries
the dairy industry has a monopoly on calcium - advertisements lead many people to believe that dairy is the only way to get calcium and it's not. 1/16/2013 12:16:45 PM |

I get that fairlife milk. Less sugar and more protein. Tried almond milk once, thought it was strange tasting and has so much less protein. Tried oat milk once(2 pack from costco)- by itself wasn’t good, but in cereal it was really good. Again, so much less protein though. I guess I get enough from other sources to where it isn’t such a big deal. Haven’t tried soy.
Should I stick with cow milk or switch to a non-dairy version? 5/25/2023 5:37:56 PM |

What milkfat % do you use in those blends with soda? 5/29/2023 7:49:05 AM |
emnsk All American 2261 Posts user info edit post |
either whole milk or 2%, usually the former since you want as much "milkyness" in less volume so that you can retain the soda 5/29/2023 10:24:07 AM |

I have been recommended this by a coworker and have been meaning to give it a try. It sounds like it could be pretty good. But I seem to rarely be in a circumstance where both milk and soda are available. I don't keep either in regular stock, so essentially I have to remember to go out of my way to assemble this. 5/29/2023 1:53:42 PM |

Lol, I find it funny that I have commented on this before. I was drinking milk and thinking that this is the greatest drink ever, so I searched "milk" and this came up. Lo and behold, I have been here before.
Nonetheless, let it be reaffirmed -- milk is the greatest drink ever. 12/28/2023 8:21:29 PM |
