I just bought a used car, but the inside is really dirty. There are a lot of blots and dog hair on the fabric chairs and feet pad. Are there any good methods to clean them? Thanks a lot.

Woolite and water in a spray bottle mixed 5:1 and agitate with a brush. Suck dry with shop vac.

- Take the seats out if you can.
- Vacuum with shop vac to get 95% of dog hairs and other trash out.
- Spray the whole carpet down with carpet cleaner, scrub with very stiff brush, and vacuum again.
- Now focus on any difficult stains that are left...Either repeat the carpet cleaner/brush treatment or get a steam cleaner and hit them with that. I usually soak in carpet cleaner, brush, and then hit it with the steam cleaner for really difficult stains.
- Vacuum out any remaining moisture and let it dry before you put the seats back in. (The seat bases will rust and stain the carpet around them if you bolt them down onto wet carpet.)

it sounds like you are really serious about taking care of the new to you car you just purchased. i think you are time and money ahead of yourself to pay this guy to do it right. i don't think it'll cost as much as you think and the results will be a lot better than you could achieve if you spent 2 days. no offense.

I came here to suggest getting it cleaned professionally too for the first cleaning, then just maintain that

I'm borrowing my friends wet vac and i'm going to try the shampooing my carpets myself. Doesn't seem to be too difficult. Get the soapy water and use a wire brush, then vac clean and pat dry. Hope it works.

I'm pretty sure a wire brush will destroy your seats. Softer is better.

Nylon is your friend. Carpet can be abused, but don't scrub too hard on the seats.
