Portable gaming system, based on the brand new Tegra 4 chip. Android, 5 inch multitouch screen, hdmi out, microsd card slot, ugly as sin, etc.
The big deal (IMO) is that it also acts as a wireless 2nd screen + Controller + output to 4K TV for your PC. Meaning you can now play all your games from Steam anywhere in your house, or on your TV without having to run cables. Think OnLive, but local to your computer instead of a cloud based one.

I'd love to have one and I will never pay money for one.
I like the idea of handheld gaming, but nah. Same went with the PSP/Vita/etc. They are all cool, had their good games here or there, but just not worth it. 1/7/2013 10:12:10 AM |

Yeah, this is definitely the more impressive or at least more marketable feature to someone like me. Looks interesting but I'm unlikely to buy this product, at least first generation.1/7/2013 1:18:46 PM |

Looks like a GameGear and an Xbox mated. 1/7/2013 5:44:08 PM |

Thing that kills this for me is that it's just the specs of an android phone built into a controller.
Sure it's going to have better controls than a phone, but developers are going to make touchscreen optimized games for the billion android phones rather than the (optimistically speaking) million Project Shield systems. Even the few "hardcore games" are optimized for touchscreens, so if you played them on this thing they would be easy as balls.
If this was made by Microsoft I would be more optomisic because they would have xbox behind them and have more influence over major 3rd party publishers, but this is just stock android. 1/7/2013 7:57:12 PM |

I'm not saying they can't build good games with that type of specs. I'm just saying I don't think they will.
Sure you can use this thing as a second screen for your PC, but how much are you willing to pay just so that you can play WoW while you take a shit? 1/7/2013 8:16:41 PM |

Is WoW even on Steam? I didn't think it was, but I don't know for sure. Never used either. 1/7/2013 8:43:39 PM |
