That's Shiites for you. That seemed like one of India/Pakistan/Bangladesh. They do that every year in those countries (and in Iraq and Iran) around a certain day to commemorate the death of Prophet Muhammad's grandson, whose murder caused the schism that led to the creation of Shiites.

Did y'all see how their backs were all full of pockets/ridges/scars? Those must have been from the prior years. But I must say, if they truly were hardcore, they wouldn't have an ambulance equipped with surgeons standing next to them. I mean, the Prophet's grandson didn't have that luxury, did he?

At the same time, I must say that I have seen several pictures/videos over the years of guys flailing their backs with something like a cheerleader's thing with a handle with lots of chains covered with pins, (and they have all showed lots of small surface wounds leading to their whole bodies being covered with blood), but have never come across anything like the first guy who just went at himself with a proper sword.

You might say that, but Shiites are not considered Muslims by Sunnis, as they have lots of beliefs and practices which which are not only absent from the Quran and the Prophet's life, but said beliefs/practices contradict and/or go against many of the teachings of Islam.

As for blowing up buses, killing of innocent people is forbidden in Islam. If it is a military bus full of soldiers, it is another story, and some scholars say it is still forbidden as it involves suicide, and suicide is a grave sin.

Anyway, as an answer to any of your future comments, killing of civilians is forbidden and a grave sin.

I agree with you, but you have to separate the teachings from the actions of the followers.

I am not saying the teachings are all harmless. Yes, there are many controversial passages in the Quran and the Prophet's sayings which seem backward, barbaric, cruel, etc.

But people who follow Islam are mostly illiterate/ignorant, and they justify way more using Islam than is permitted. Killing of civilians is one example, and the most relevant example in today's world. Oh, and honor killings of women as well. Both are heinous barbaric acts, but those do such acts falsely justify them using their religion.
