A friend express mailed me 2 tickets, that were to arrive today. He even waived the signature, so the post office could leave the package in my mailbox.

Instead, they left the orange note of death, telling me that the package couldn't be delivered to a secure place (my locked mailbox). However, I am welcome to pick up the package on Tuesday.

I believe USPS shakes packages and guesses what's inside them before they leave a package with you. If it's something cheap, they leave a note telling you to come pick it up. If it's expensive, they leave it at your door. If it's really expensive, they deliver it to your neighbor.
