Nice but major . Conveniently a few months before he was out of contract and said he was going to wrestle in New Japan, ROH, CMLL...

I mean its not a shock, WWE just didn't want bad press, but he had been cleared by multiple doctors and this was well known. I heard his deal expires in October, so he could still leave WWE and jump to NJPW.

IBT Connor McGregor to WWE

Looks like WWE is going to trade Lesner for McGregor based on Connor's actions yesterday.

Best NXT Takeover ever, IMO. Didn't think anyone would top the ladder match, then Gargano/Ciampa happened.

Vince McMahon Lex Luger'd Roman Reigns.

They used most of the year prior and the runup to get the win for Reigns over Lesnar at Mania...back in 2015.

I guess so

But Reigns is not over at all. He would actually benefit from having Heyman or some other Heel Manager who has charisma on the stick. I think at the beginning of the build to the match they had assumed Reigns would win, but everybody was predicting it, coupled with the fact that almost every WM ends with the face winning the title in the final match. That said if Lesnar is going to UFC then he almost certainly will be dropping the strap possibly tonight against Reigns or Strowman

I think my favorite match was the Angle/Rousey vs Trips/Steph probably because I had zero expectations in that match.

Awful story telling & execution for most of the matches last night (latter half especially). It seems pretty obvious Wrestlemania is no longer the blow off for feuds and transition to new stuff.

Seems like Strowman is the obvious "next guy" for Lesnar. I would have put Braun in the title match last night instead of that absolutely stupid and senseless tag match. Now you've got the tag titles on one man with no direction, unless they find a way to strip him of them tonight. He's the most over guy and the one true "monster" that can beat Brock.

Joe seems like the next logical choice. He's much better on the mic than Braun or Roman, and more than held his own against Lesnar back last summer. Him beating Brock is very believable.

I have Brock fatigue. Time to put it on Braun or Joe.

Joe most def is coming back tonight. Braun should take the belt off Brock.

So Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe and Bobby Lashley returned last night

Authors of Pain (they also appeared to dump Paul Ellering last night), No Way Jose, and Ember Moon called up from NXT

Best moment was the look on Seth's face after Jeff had the interaction with Woken Matt Hardy and Woken Bray Wyatt.

WWE's big money deals, while lucrative for them, are for the fan that has dealt with their mostly shitty product in a de facto monopoly since 2001, kind of like the owner of a bad sports team that loses year after year selling the team for a mint. Hey, good deal for them, but there's no positive effect for anyone else.

Except Smackdown will be the flagship show now that is on primetime, effectively ending any brand split. Which i think can only be a good thing.

They have a TON of wrestlers under contract, some really good ones in fact that are just twiddling their thumbs because they don't have enough for them to do. They have to have a brand split just because it makes a lot of wrestlers surplus to needs.

Politically interesting one.

Wrestlemania weekend next year is in New York.

WWE are running all their arena shows at the Barclays Center.

ROH the night before Mania have booked...Madison Square Garden.

There's apparently a ton of shit going on behind the scenes in wrestling at the moment, everywhere. New Japan getting bigger. CMLL and AAA cooperating in Mexico. WWE trying to kill off a potential rival with better TV in Britain before it gets going. ROH are running bigger buildings. WWE's own huge TV deal while their product sucks. The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes sold out a 10000-seat building for their own show later this year in Chicago.

1. Hulk Hogan apparently "back" in WWE.

2. Is the booking of Lesnar and the title or lack thereof post-WrestleMania not the most shit booking imaginable?

So on January 4th, 2010, TNA Wrestling decided to try and create a new Monday Night Wars, and have Impact go head-to-head vs. Raw.

Impact that first night had 2.2 million viewers with a Flair-Hogan main event. Raw had 5.6 million. It was widely seen as a complete disaster for TNA.

Raw this past Monday night had 2.16 million viewers, a new non-holiday all-time low. Smackdown on Tuesday was down to 1.8 million. Raw has less viewers now than when TBS cancelled WCW Nitro.

Meanwhile, Raw starts on Fox in October. They've lost a lot of money the past quarter, put it all on "injuries", but are going to get a huge new TV contract. A new competitor is out there ran by Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks funded by the Jacksonville Jaguars owner that is rumored will be announced on TBS soon. A lot of people in WWE want out of their contract, and WWE are not budging on them. Dean Ambrose has officially ended his contract and is gone, now returning to the name Jon Moxley. And WWE creative as always is complete shit.

What say you? Anyone still pay attention? It's incredibly interesting times in the pro wrestling world as WWE has a new TV contract yet looks the shakiest they've been since they gained hegemony in 2001.

The lack of competition is killing the brand that and the whole creative team is awful.

They keep trying to make Roman Reigns happen and he just isn't over. They completely screwed up Rusev and Braun Stroman, and they almost did the same thing to Kofi, though they still aren't on board with him. I also think the power struggle between Vince and Trips is pretty much killing the company. They have no charismatic stick men now. Samoa Joe is a great wrestler but he is terrible on the mic, he needs Heyman in the worst way, he could be an iconic heel if they paired them up.

I hope AEW gets a TV contract and can provide some true competition.

"Four months after the promotion was first announced, All Elite Wrestling has revealed TNT as their television home.

AEW and WarnerMedia issued a press release this morning announcing that AEW will begin airing live weekly matches on TNT in prime time later this year. Further details on when the weekly show will begin, what day it will be on, the length of it, and its name have yet to be revealed.

The press released touted a multi-platform approach that will include WarnerMedia’s Bleacher Report Live service and pay-per-view. B/R Live will be the exclusive digital streaming partner for Double or Nothing in the United States, with the event also available via traditional PPV. Double or Nothing is taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 25."

AEW's new TV show will be called Dynamite, airing on TNT Wednesdays from 8 to 10pm. First show is October 2nd.

Not watched WWE TV regular in years. I'm going to give this a shot.

The season premier of Raw and the New Smackdown were solid shows until HITC PPV just basically took them and threw them in the trash.

Bray/The Fiend is the best thing on WWE TV right now so of course they kill it.

AEW is entertaining as hell, but not a surprise with Jericho and Omega being involved.

"REPORT: ROMAN REIGNS OFF WWE WRESTLEMANIA 36 BY JOSH NASON | @JOSHNASON | MAR 26, 2020 7:14 PM

In this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the WrestleMania 36 card is undergoing changes due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, one of the major players in this year's card is reportedly pulling off the show.

Citing sources with knowledge of the situation, Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin reported Thursday that Roman Reigns will not wrestle WWE Universal Champion Bill Goldberg due to health concerns regarding his immune system being compromised from his bouts with leukemia.

Satin said Goldberg will still be on the show, but his opponent is unclear.

From Meltzer: "The WrestleMania card has also changed. Names are being kept confidential because so few know, but it’s been confirmed that multiple people on the card either said they were sick, which meant instantly being pulled off all shows this week, there were others who did not feel sick but had fevers above 100.4, which was the WWE’s cut-off point of not allowing people to work, and others who, on their own, said they didn’t feel comfortable flying in. Both AEW and WWE had told people that if they don’t want to come, they don’t have to come and that the decisions made now won’t be held against them when it comes to future booking."

As of this writing, Meltzer has not confirmed Reigns is off WrestleMania. The 34-year-old took an indefinite hiatus in October 2018 after his form of leukemia returned after 11 years and returned to WWE in late-February of 2019.

The WrestleMania show was scheduled to be filmed Wednesday and Thursday at the Orlando, FL-based Performance Center for air on Saturday, April 4th and Sunday, April 5th due to the ongoing uncertainty due to the worldwide pandemic."
