Laughable. No one heard it, yet it's audible on the Television broadcast.

the most offensive thing about the chant is that the discussion and bitching are overshadowing his 29pts, 11ast, and 1 TO in his first two games as a starter.. which are also vs the two best teams in the ACC.

You're hearing what you want to hear. The chant is obviously "Past your bedtime."

That isn't obvious. People at the game said they heard it. That seems pretty obvious to me.

Lewis' father, who heard it and says it's not a big deal, is clearly a liar who's blowing things out of proportion.

debatable enough to conclude that, at most, it was a handful of assholes doing it rather than the entire student section. Newsflash: large groups of sports fans contain a few assholes.

Let's not forget the Chris Paul/Grandfather thing.

It's easy to want to make a big fucking deal out of this because state fans are once again full of angst given the way our season's gone, but focusing that energy on vilifying all of Duke over a couple of assholes is petty.

True, but Chris Paul was a dick and a dick-puncher. But let's move on.

I listened to it a couple times, and the chants during his first FT definitely sounds like "Past Your Bedtime." The second FT gets a little iffy. The last syllable definitely sounds more like an AHHHH sound than an IIIIIME sound.

Who knows. It's just fun to say fuck Duke

supposedly lewis gave a couple fans some evil staredown at one point in the game

so my guess is it was a 'past your bedtime' chant, but a few cameron cunts did some grandma chant

that was the exact same thing that happened here. a couple dumbasses in a crowd of hundreds of students.

that incident got blown way out of proportion just like this one has.

"The Wolfpack had a rough week last week as the team lost close games to Virginia and Miami. Both games came down to the last shot with the Pack coming up short in both games. Point guard Lorenzo Brown went down in the first half against the Cavaliers and sat out the game against the 'Canes as well. With Brown hobbled, Mark Gottfried turned to a talented but seldom used freshman in Lewis. The former McDonald's All-American played extremely well against Miami and had the Pack in a position to steal a win against the #1 team in the conference. He had 16 points on only 8 shot attempts to go along with 5 assists to only 1 turnover. It was on the defensive end that most felt Lewis would struggled but he held his own against Shane Larkin, one of the better young guards in the ACC. The Pack face Duke on Thursday night and with Brown's status still up in the air, there should be no shortage of opportunities for Lewis to prove himself worthy of more playing time going forward."

He already has one of the best handles in the ACC. Miami and Duke pressured him pretty damn decent and he got the ball up the court pretty easily.

yeah the amount Lewis has improved the past couple games is about the same amount Purvis has declined. The crazy thing about Purvis is that the knock on him was his outside shooting. His outside shooting has been fine, he hasn't done anything else well. WTF?

^I critiqued Purvis for his lack of doing anything besides hitting an open 3 pt shot earlier in the season on pack pride and was driven into the ground. Lewis is playing 10x better than Purvis right now. Purvis needs to spend all Summer in the gym and come back next year hoping to earn his starting spot. There is going to be quite a bit of competition with Turner and Barber in the fold(not to mention MAYBE the JC Guard)

Purvis' biggest problem, besides playing out of control, is not finishing shots. He's been missing tons of shots in close at the basket. He gets fouled on about half of them, but then can't make the free throws.

Anyway, gotta love Lewis' play lately. If you give him an opening, he'll sneak right to the basket for a layup. Leave him open deep, and he'll bury a three. He just takes what the defense gives him and hardly ever makes mistakes.

He also gives us another free throw shooter late in games if we can't get Scott the ball. That's huge.

Purvis is missing close shots because they are hard shots. Aggression with intelligence is what he should be shooting for. He doesn't realize that the reward for a hard shot is not worth the risk, especially since he won't make the FTs.

The easiest, quickest way for freshmen to improve is to just make the safe play. It's like throwing the ball out of bounds in football. It's a boring play, but much better than making a mistake.

Turning the ball over or giving up a fast break are the biggest mistakes you can make.

Lewis has made more layups in the half court than Purvis has this season. Purvis is an athlete, not a basketball player...YET

everybody would love purvis making 'difficult plays' if he could just hit his FTs

for someone who is a good jump shooter, i have to think the FTs will come to him

i'd like to see him take it hard to the hoop and get fouled early in the 1st half of a game...maybe getting to the line early would help him be comfortable shooting from the charity stripe later in the game...or maybe he's just so pumped up during the game he has trouble relaxing enough to hit the free throws

^its not JUST his FT shooting though. Yeah, for a SG(hell, for a center), his % is terrible, but he hasn't shown the ability to consistently hit around the rim either. From what was said about him coming out of HS, his ability to get to the rim and finish was the best thing about him. So far...not even close.

the FTs have to improve but that has nothing to do with the fact that he's completely useless in the half court unless he gets 5 seconds to take a set shot 3

and lately, he's been largely useless on the fast break as well (although that has more to do with FTs)

^ the main thing that has to improve is the D. We have to many players get completely lost on D and give p a wide open shot.

The transition game hasn't been the best over the last 3 or three games because we have thrown the ball away or missed a layup (Purvis)

We are now playing worse D than UNC*. And while we have gotten worse UNC* has gotten better.

Also team defensive rebounding. We gave up 23+ ORBs to vt.

well, other teams have taken notice and adjusted their defense to minimize our transition game. We're pretty easy to figure out. Take away the transition game and you give yourself a chance to win at the end.

Transfer before its too late. You have a chance to develop into something special with a coach that will put you on the floor.

so this day in age its not ok for a 5 10 kid that needs a couple years of strength/conditioning to compete at the highest level to be a backup until his junior year? sheesh

seriously, he isn't going to transfer.

he's either going to start next year if brown leaves, or play 20 minutes a game in the unlikely event he stays.

The problem is not whether Brown comes back or not but that Gott recruited over him with Barber. Although if Brown were to leave, Lewis might think he has a shot at more playing time.

purvis started in front of lewis when brown was out and has played ahead of lewis all season so why do you think that will change when barber gets here and brown is probably back anyhow.
