And his police training is totally dependent on the academy and the retraining they implement. Some departments are like the damn military. Others, I'd say the majority, actually, are a 6 month community college course with a couple days at a gun range and some pushups and running in the morning.

I don't think he is on foot. They spent all last night searching that mountain..but why would he go on foot and have to physically carry all his weapons on him?

I think the burning truck on a mountain was a smokescreen to draw them away so he could move again.

Exactly. Also, they're making way too big of a deal about his "marksmanship training." He barely qualified with the rifle on the Navy test, which isn't hard to begin with. In the Marine Corps, on a much more difficult qualification course, if you qualify "marksman" (the lowest level) like this guy, you are the butt of jokes. He did qualify "expert" on pistol, but that's easy to do even on the USMC and Army tests, and for what this guy is trying to do, pistol marksmanship won't do him any good, anyway.

Also, there is no way in hell that his fat ass is moving on foot around Big Bear with a .50 BMG. I have my doubts that he actually is carrying a .50.

also, i usually like anderson cooper, but I am rolling my eyes at him and his entire show for not knowing or figuring out what "1 MOA" means. Someone even told them, and they expressed as a possibility that it "could be 'one minute of arc', a marksmanship term", but they were still reporting it as some acronym for some slogan.

One of two things has happened to this guy.

1) He simultaneously committed suicide & made his body disappear at the same time. (maybe that's what the boat was for that he tried to steal a couple of days ago) He figured he would fuck with the entire law enforcement community by disappearing with no trace, leaving them with no option but to continue searching for him forever, and waste tons of resources, and be worried that he would resurface as soon as they let their guard down, and start taking out officers again. They never find him, never get to kill him, or even prosecute him, he was already suicidal so he wont care if he dies and he wants the last laugh.


2) He has a really good hiding spot, and a lot of patience, he is going to wait until the police let their guard down and strike again. This seems less plausible because he does not really have any support network, and the FBI is digging through every move he has made leading up to this if there were any clues where he would go they would probably find him.
