This shit is pretty funny. Guy Fieri didn't buy the domain name for his restaurant, so someone else bought it and made up a fake menu. 2/20/2013 10:52:01 PM

Think I saw a review on reddit a while back about this place. If its the one in times square iirc then the person gave it a hilariously scathing review. Seems to fit this site 2/20/2013 10:53:38 PM

Think I read about this on grantland
Many of the reviews were from elitist anti food network/travel channel critics that made me want to side with fieri even though he is an insufferable douche.
But then I read one that changed my mind from a guy who actually appreciates guy's show and it showcasing unique and unknown jewels of Americana, but then tore into him and his restaurant for being a generic cash grab. 2/21/2013 1:06:16 PM

only the hacks
Tony Bourdain deserves his fame and paychecks
but I suppose a trumped-up Grizzlebee's clone belongs in Times Square for all the TGIFucktards trying to get cheap tix to a Broadway show
so everyone got what they deserved
now, if you'll excuse me my Hobo Lobo Bordello Slam Jam is ready 2/21/2013 2:45:29 PM

Excellent summary of the reviews with good points on both sides.

This is the review I agree with mostly but the whole article is definitely worth a read.
Quote : | "And landing somewhere in the middle is Saveur.com's Helen Rosner, who writes in support of Fieri's mission statement, as displayed on his show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives: to uphold the sanctity of trashy American food. The thing is, Wells loves that stuff, too, and wants to see it done right. And that's why, justifiably, he's cocked the shotgun and fired a couple of shells into Guy Fieri's chest. Because he cares: "What Pete isn't saying in his review is what you might get on a surface read: 'Ha ha, Obviously Shitty Restaurant is obviously shitty.' What he's saying to Guy is hey, dude, no one is expecting Le Bernardin here. No one is even expecting Shake Shack. But Guy Fieri is the champion of the terrible-wonderful, he is the guy who lifted the veneer of shame from the chili-cheese-bacon-slaw-dog and taught us ... that you can get your fix of soul-satisfying, sort of intimidating, deeply wonderful, calorically-dense, artery-freezing food without having to go to a soul-sucking chain restaurant ... that instead we could go to a restaurant that tells a story about its city or region ... And then here is Fieri's actual restaurant ... and in its extraordinary culinary ineptitude ... undoes every bit of that incredibly powerful, very pro-food, very pro-human-scale action that Guy has engendered."" |

He's also allegedly a giant homophobe. Like his staff has to make sure there isn't a homo working at any of the places he visits on his stupid show. 2/21/2013 3:03:30 PM

Thanks for posting that Grantland article, it was mostly fair and seemed to conclude that Guy got what he deserved with the NY Times review. The top comment was also true, "I feel like it was a direct shot at anyone -- in the culinary world or otherwise -- that attempts to profit off of his or her name without standing behind the quality of the product." 2/24/2013 9:22:00 AM
