If they are woods with similar flora and fauna to NC, I could last long enough to make it to civilization if I knew what direction that was

Judging by these questions, none of you are resourceful in the slightest and would obviously eat some poisonous shit because you couldn't find a KFC in 30 minutes

Just cut a few snakes / alligators with my knife, using the CQC techniques I learned, then pick up the rations that are left behind.

Pretty simple.

What a thrill...
With darkness and silence through the night
What a thrill...
I'm searching and I'll melt into you
What a fear in my heart
But you're so supreme!

I'd give my life
Not for honour, but for you! [Snake Eater]
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to you! [Snake Eater]
I'm still in a dream,
Snake Eater!

Someday you go through the rain
And someday, you feed on a tree frog
This ordeal, the trial to survive
For the day we see new light!

I'd give my life
Not for honour, but for you! [Snake Eater]
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to you! [Snake Eater]
I'm still in a dream,
Snake Eater!

I am still in a dream,
Snake Eater!

If you find yourself lost in the woods, fuck it, build a house. "Well, I was lost but now I live here! I have severely improved my predicament!"

sad to say the answer is a function of how long it's been since i last ate, and nothing else.

I've seen that Anthony Hopkins movie The Edge like 3-4 times, so I think I would be pretty well set for the wilderness.

I'd last a while. I carry an extra 20 or 30 pounds as is and way more pounds than that to worry about starving.

I would probably freak out, cry a lot, and act a fool for at least a week before I managed to accomplish any significant survival feat.

Heads up to the birds: I am lazy so I will be eating your eggs as needed.

i don't get this argument.

what if God cooked a really hot burrito...

and then willfully give up the power to withstand heat?

Believe it or not, I think that I would be able to make do until I came down with some catastrophic illness or injury. I grew up pretty rural and outdoorsy. I have some practical knowledge and survival skills that are pretty old and rusty, but they're still there. I think that it would really come down to whether or not I can manage to start a fire without a lighter or matches.

It depends. If I got dropped in the woods right now, I'd probably die of pneumonia in a couple of months. I've had a sinus infection for several weeks and it's turned into bronchitis. That's just a few cold ass wet nights from killing me.

Wait...I thought we were warm in this place.

If we're cold, then I'm dead ASAP.

There's no reason to even bother living alone in the cold.

Oh I'd be done for pretty quick if I didn't have more starting supplies. I used to fish growing up and I'm not terrible shot with a bow (had one at my grandparents house as a kid & did well in an archery class in college though I doubt if that translate well to actual hunting), but I'd be hard pressed to make it long if I had no starting equipment. I'd be lucky to still get a fire going.

I grew up playing in the woods a lot, and making trails, and I have a strong sense of direction so I don't get lost too easily. As kids we used to build structures in the wood, sometimes with hammers, nails, and boards, and sometimes just with hatchets and axes to cut down small trees, and twine to tie things together, it wasn't anything for insulation but it'd give you some walls or a roof, if you already had a sleeping bag to use.

I used to eat some wild berries in the woods. If there were wild blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries around I'd probably go for them, and I loved honeysuckles though I doubt there's any real nutritional value there. And I'd probably try eating acorns and other nuts too, as a vegetarian I eat a lot of nuts anyways for protein. Heck, I'd probably try a lot of things in really small doses and see how I reacted to them before scaling up.

But yeah, if I have no supplies, luck and chance are some of the biggest factors to determine how long I'd make it, and that's under good conditions with temperate weather and friendly wildlife.

I'd dig a really big hole and cover it with sticks and leaves and wait for a large animal to fall in. Then I'd kill it and mount it's head as a trophy.

I think the idea is that you are in the general area that you are in right now, but instead of buildings and cars and civilization its just more trees and natural ecosystemz
