Perhaps the most complete destruction of a senior Chinese official since Tienanmen. Surprised the Chinese government hasn't shot him yet. Or maybe they just want to quietly make him disappear so that whatever punishment is levied against him won't bring him back up in the national dialogue.

Not always, sometimes they like to make public examples. In this case though, since he's an embarrassment to the Politburo and still has many supporters, he'll just quietly fade from view.
