I downloaded every last "episode" of Mystery Science Theater 3000. The unbroadcast, the KTMA access shows, the commercials, the teasers pleasers and stingers. everything.

And my favorite part is I don't think I broke any laws in doing it! It's hard as fuck to not break any laws while doing something nowadays. So, thanks, Mike, Joel, Bots and The Mads.

On how it was legal, though through torrent. Every single show ends with the text "Keep spreading the tapes guys!" or some variant. even after they were syndicated by the sci-fi channel it was a part of the agreement.
They did this before the MPAA or whatever gang is currently in control of media pirate terrorizing even existed. In essence it's a one line EULA that is signed by THEM giving you permission to record and rebroadcast their content. BUT they DO still have copyright. What they are saying is you can do whatever you want so long as it doesn't force them to defend their copyright (which they MUST in order to keep it) . like, say, selling crow and servo dolls or charging for their content and giving them no heads up or offering them terms. Any terms. They don't want to ultimately make more money off of it, but if money is being made off of it, then they reserve the right to acquire a portion of it. (though they reserve it, they have made it clear that unless they are being aggressively kept out of the loop, they have absolutely no intentions of filing suit or grievance)
Pretty much telling the RIAA or whateverthefuck to jam shit in their butts because it belongs to THEM, not some makeshift lawyer mafia.
