Not a bad opening day in NYC. Looking good tonight. Who knows, maybe they can lose less than 90 games this year!

Pitching looked great in the spring. Although the Yankees 2013 lineup looks like a 2012 Red Sox lineup, its looked pretty solid in the first 2 games too.

2 series wins to start the year. 6 HR's in the game, 3 from Middlebrooks and Lester was incredible. Don't see how you can sit Iglesias once Drew is back from his concussion issues either - done everything asked of him at this point.

ugh, we're gonna see a ton of people wearing Red Sox hats as if the baseball team helped capture the marathon terrorists

I've made my peace with this team. They haven't kept the Rays from anything in over 5 years, Papelbon is gone, pretty much everybody is gone that I hated, and they actually have a respectable clubhouse now.

Pretty good for his first game. 6 IP, 5 H, 3 runs but only 2 earned, 5 K's. He was in line to get the Win but the bullpen blew it.

He was pretty impressive for being just 23. Had a pretty consistent 95 mph fastball. Made a few mistakes that cost him, but other than that pretty damn solid.

^^He was still a couple years younger than me, but I knew him through a few mutual friends. Always seemed like a nice guy, glad he's doing well.

I think it's funny how many Red Sox fans have never been North of the Mason Dixon line.

how many braves fans in NC have never been to Atlanta?

Sox are 11 games over .500 after the first 25 games and are +40 in run differential. in each of the last three seasons, sox were 11-14 at this point

Yeah, there's really not much to hate about this team anymore.

My focus is more on the Braves, and don't get me started about how horrible their fans are and how terrible Atlanta is. Oh wait, the Braves thread...

^^ I don't know of any Braves fans that have actually not been to Atlanta, but I do know plenty of Sox, Yankee, and UNC fans that have never set foot in Boston, NYC, or Chapel Hill. Braves don't have a bandwagon like those other teams even if you like to think that.

Yes there are a lot of Brave fans in NC due to that fact that the Braves were the only team in the South for 30+ years. That is hardly a bandwagon.

^Scrumples has already been put in his place regarding his take on Braves fans in the Braves thread. I guess he decided to take his Braves trolling to a new thread in hopes that someone would agree with his asinine take that you have to support whatever team is closest to where you live instead of the team you grew up liking.

^ agreed on all. We were raised in the south closer to ATL than anywhere else while watching every game every night on TBS. Then I would say most of us as adults have been to atl so nice try.
