He's been struggling with cancer for the last few months. Today I had him put to sleep to end his pain. Why do I feel like shit .

i know how you feel. we woke up a month ago in the middle of the night to our healthy 4 year old lab having a seizure....and then his heart stopped. we rushed him to an emergency vet but there was nothing they could do.

She had a brain anyuerism rupture and went brain dead in a week.

I actually still have a lot of guilt over it.

We did organ donation so they took her off life support proved that she couldn't do anything in her own and put her right back on. I kinda wonder what if the lights came back on during the organ harvesting?


I dunno I will say this. Organ donation is probably the right thing to do but you lose a lot more than you think you do when you do it.

I Feel terrible for you man. I totally understand. My golden is pushing 12, and I have had him since he was 6 weeks old!

Pretty much the only time that I get motivated to do anything other than work is when he gets sick. The last trip to the vets was especially bad, because this is when I learned that he had no right hip any more and I couldn't/shouldn't fetch or jog with him. I remember so distinctly that when the vet showed me the X-ray of his hip that had been grounded to pieces, I got sick, vomited and started crying. I never cry.
