So I can live vicariously through you...
So far for me I'm going up to the Berkshires in western Massachusetts for a week in late June. Stopping in Fairfield, Connecticut for a half marathon on the way up and then Sunday - Sunday at a resort to just hike, kayak, bike and maybe some whitewater rafting. I've never been that far north (in the US) and the folks have a bunch of timeshare points that are set to expire in July, so might as well as use them.
What do you guys have planned? 4/10/2013 4:40:37 PM

We always go on a family beach trip down in Cherry Grove for a week. Each family rents out a condo in the same building. I drink all weekend with my brother and brother in law. We have 4 kids between us now too.

ugh, I haven't made any good plans this summer. Last summer: Boston, Atlantic City, Train Trip (including Chicago, Denver, Reno, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco).
We are VERY bad about not setting up vacations. Not because we don't enjoy them, we just both get busy and let time fly by. Also, I am a planner and never make the time to plan >.< This is a good reminder to pick a few places to go this summer. 4/10/2013 4:52:48 PM

Usually do a week in Orlando every summer, but we are doing Myrtle Beach this year to save some money.
Other than that, I will probably try to spend as many weekends at Emerald Isle as possible. Which will probably be like 1.

Agreed, but it's way cheaper than Orlando and we rarely leave poolside anyway. And at least the resort in Myrtle is on the beach. We are over the Disney parks, so there is no reason to spend the extra money. 4/10/2013 6:31:00 PM

I need to burn 12 days of vacation from now til the end of the year, I've got a bachelor party in the Keys over Labor Day weekend, but that will only use up a day or two. I think a week long vacation to the beach or somewhere fun this summer is a must.
No plans yet tho

NCSUHippie is visiting me for at least a week and we're going to get drunk and hopefully make it to the beach but maybe just stumble out to the backyard.
My parents and brother's family are going to the place at the beach where we used to go when I was a kid for a week. I will try to go for a couple days but I don't think Aaron is going to be able to go at all and I think I'll get super bored if I try to stay the whole week.
Probably making a couple trips up to Raleigh and Georgia too. And at least one more friend is coming here to visit. 4/10/2013 9:03:06 PM

This is me as well. I'm 30 now and haven't been on a vacation in my adult life. Unless you call running down to New Bern on an occasional weekend to check in on the grand parents.
Due to being laid off from every company I've worked for, I've been unemployed as much as I've been employed over the years. No time to save any $ 4/11/2013 7:59:45 AM

I've only gone on one "non-family" vacation since I left for college...and that was back-packing around Europe. So I don't think it qualifies as an adult vacation.
And the only upcoming trip that also isn't family related (Aruba with the in-laws and Kuaui with my parents) is my honeymoon.
So basically I like to ride on everyone else's vacation coattails. Which I'm perfectly fine with.
I also feel like I live in a vacation city...so the urge to travel is quite subdued. I can be laying on the beach or in a kayak/SUP in 15 minutes. 4/11/2013 8:08:13 AM

I haven't had a true vacation in years. I went to the Keys last year, but that was a bachelor party so I don't really count it. Not a damn thing planned for this year either.
just going to try and spend more time at the lake house. maybe i'll get lucky and find a way to get to the beach, haven't been in the ocean in years. It sucks, with all of my close friends now married no one has the spontaneity to make last minute trips or the "time" to plan big trips.
i just want a sunday-sunday at the beach, ocean front, with a pool. no worries, no restraints, plenty of cocktails, and relaxation. seems a lot to ask for these days. 4/11/2013 8:23:07 AM

Honeymoon in late May--still haven't booked Trying to decide between the FL Keys and the Mayan Riviera. Plus the wedding is in the OBX, but you can't really call that a vacation (for us, anyway).
Other than that, probably a couple of day/weekend trips to the beach and to visit family/friends. Nothing too exciting. 4/11/2013 8:51:52 PM

Jesse, you still need to plan a trip to Raleigh to hit up some breweries. Not sure if that counts as a vacation...
This thread has me thinking that I'm going to take a week off in June/July and make a trip down to my in-laws myrtle beach timeshare once it opens up. A few days sitting next to the ocean/pool with live music playing sounds great right now, and so does a steam pot from Biminis 4/11/2013 9:36:16 PM

Looks like I may go to Florida (sarasota) for a week in June with my in laws. Justin may stick around here, not totally set in stone, but I was invited this week to join them. DC in July for a bachelorette party. As always, trips to the beach to see my inlaws every so often and especially over the 4th.
The two full weeks at the beach last year were awesome. One at emerald and one at topsail. I'd love to do that again. (Went with family that paid...prolly another reason they were so awesome)

In lieu of attending to basic responsibilities, I prefer to wallow in frivolity...so every day is like a vacation for me. My big errand after work was to hunt down a bottle of OPI's tutti frutti tonga so I could fix my pedicure. Good thing it didn't actually matter because I failed the errand.
This summer, when somebody else does the work of planning, I will be going to the beach and the mountains a few times. Otherwise, I'll be guzzling iced americanos while I catch up on my readin' in the sun. I've actually got an awesome summer read going right now--it's super soapy without being cheesy. As usual, I'm a year or so late, but if you're also behind on books, check it out:
