Technical skills:You may not have demonstrable experience in all the technologies below but we’ll be expecting a goodcross section of them.We value strong computer science skills and quality and so you will need:-Minimum 4 years experience developing windows applications using .NET and C#. Knowledge of .NETversion 4.0 is a plus.-Experience in WPF and WinForms-Experience in developing and implementing WCF services-Good grasp of distributed, fault-tolerant systems (caching, algorithms optimization, memorymanagement)-Strong database skills and SQL skills. Working with huge database is a plus.-Experience with an industry-leader ORM, like Entity Framework, NHibernate or Link2SQL.-Experience in multithreading, parallel programming is a plus.-Knowledge of the messaging technologies like TIBCO EMS is a plus-Experience of embedding quality into the development process, ideally test-driven development-Experience with unit testing is a plus – unit tests, mock frameworks (NUnit, TypeMock/RhinoMocks)I'm confused with some terminologies like WPF, WCF, ORM, TIBCO, NUnit, TypeMock, etc. Who are familiar with them?[Edited on April 29, 2013 at 11:55 PM. Not trying to be a dick, but did you try to google the terms you're not familiar with?If you're unfamiliar with that much stuff in a job description, it's probably not a job for you.
4/30/2013 12:34:26 AM
if you had 4 years worth of dev experience, you wouldn't be asking those questions.
4/30/2013 7:30:18 AM
don't listen to these jackholes, shootit's easy stuff and they won't require that you know it before you start...you'll pick it up within the first week on the job
4/30/2013 8:16:17 AM
Are you sure you were a CSC major?
4/30/2013 8:31:10 AM
none of that stuff is covered in a typical computer science education
4/30/2013 9:00:57 AM
4/30/2013 11:50:01 AM
I'll be interviewed by a crazy Indian technical geek.
4/30/2013 1:29:35 PM
Well you've got that going for you..."Know your foe."Also, did you copy/paste this?

Again, asking the types of questions he is, he doesnt stand a chance. Also if hes only half as awkward IRL as he is on here, then he will be lucky to:1) find the interview itself2) not crash in-route3) notify the appropriate people hes arrived for said interview4) hide his ridiculous level of Asian long enough to stutter he has no clue why hes actually there5) leave the room before interviewers burst into tears (laughing)

you forgot letting his blatantly racist attitude towards Indians show
4/30/2013 3:01:58 PM
A face to face interview is scheduled Thursday afternoon. I'm fucking nervous now. It's a pretty good opportunity for me.
4/30/2013 3:08:22 PM
You actually think having no real job before and three master's degrees is going to land you a six-figure job?I mean Jesus Christ dude, get a fucking clue. Its not mean, its reality.
4/30/2013 3:12:10 PM
2 masters, I quit the last one.I have a job. But this one seems not for the entry-level.
4/30/2013 3:15:38 PM
But this is a typical software engineer salary for global company like this, right?I know companies like google, facebook pay ppl 10k+.
4/30/2013 3:26:41 PM
its typical comp for EXPERIENCED engineers.
4/30/2013 3:33:04 PM
I have experiences, although not directly related to .net and C#.
4/30/2013 3:34:48 PM
no, you have an over done education.
4/30/2013 3:35:25 PM
I don't think PHD level research can still be called as EDUCATION.My yrs in the lab is mainly preparation for my future high-tech business. And I don't think 120K is an average salary for workers in DB. They just post the money there to attract attentions. The hiring manager told me that they were expanding, planning to recruit 300+ ppl. 120K*300=36M. I don't believe DB is gonna invest such amount of money to a small office like RTP.
4/30/2013 3:44:03 PM
5-10 years Experienced C# and Java Developers can earn 100k+ without much effort. However, most people cannot do the job well, so that's why the comp is so high.If you cannot develop software, it will be obvious within a week, and you'll get removed.[Edited on April 30, 2013 at 3:52 PM. Reason : -]
4/30/2013 3:51:22 PM
So they use the salary trying to recruit some top coders across the internet.
4/30/2013 3:54:44 PM
Fucking US government tries to hire some cheap slaves from the third-world countries like China and India to work on PhD. Those poor guys spent 14 hrs per day in the lab getting paid very poor salaries. Not for me, bullshit. I've quit the program for permanent head damage!
4/30/2013 4:17:52 PM
god damn it
4/30/2013 4:24:45 PM
When I still lived in Raleigh I was offered a job in that range at Deustche Bank. I turned it down to work at a startup for lower pay, which I didn't purchase my vested shares when I left, which is now IPOing. FML [Edited on April 30, 2013 at 6:49 PM. Reason : a]

5/5/2013 12:41:47 AM
how in the hell did you pass a phone screening?
5/7/2013 12:14:01 AM
The company didn't seem like it had a chance in hell of IPO at the time and it's business isn't something that would create a good retail market for shares. I left for more equity in terms of percent instead of nebulous shares that were diluted to all hell and more money. Given it's been 3 years and the difference in salary has dwarfed what I would have made. At worst I would have gotten my money back and best gotten a down payment on a Tesla
5/7/2013 11:06:34 AM
They chose a candidate with internal referral. But I nearly made it according to my friend working there.
5/9/2013 3:14:28 PM
5/9/2013 3:28:01 PM
To be honest, what he said is the truth. They have other openings and asked me some java knowledge, but those openings are not urgently needed now.

what's your question? I'm going to go ahead and say that, based on your posting history, you fail miserably at the "strong communication skills" and " Fluency in English both orally and in writing, with excellent communication skills"
7/16/2013 11:31:44 PM
What is your question, shoot? Also, ^don't be a dipshit.
7/16/2013 11:36:30 PM
^^ I admit that.My question is how deep they will ask me about PHP or JQuery in a 30 mins' phone interview. I know HTML and JDK, but I don't know much about PHP.[Edited on July 17, 2013 at 9:17 AM. Reason : It's scheduled on Friday.]
7/17/2013 9:15:53 AM
They are going to probe how much you know. If you knock the simple ones out of the park, they'll go deeper. Even if you can fake the phone interview, which I seriously doubt, they'll tear you a new one in the in-person one. You would be much better served looking through job descriptions for stuff you actually can do.
7/18/2013 11:50:52 PM
^^Depends who interviews you during that 30 minute interview - if it is someone technical, then they are likely going to test your knowledge with some in depth questions. If it is HR, then they are likely to ask basic questions to get a "feel" for how comfortably you answer the question.Good luck.
7/19/2013 10:55:05 AM
Just finished the phone interview. It's a HR person. She asked me some behavior questions only. So the real challenge is the on-site interview. They r definitely gonna ask me technical ones. I know XML, but not much about PHP.
7/19/2013 11:21:34 AM
well one's a structural language, and the other's a programming language, so...
7/19/2013 11:22:40 AM
I'm gonna conquer it over the weekend.
7/19/2013 11:51:04 AM
Can you imagine shoot in a phone interview?
7/19/2013 12:27:44 PM
What do u mean?
7/19/2013 12:30:34 PM
Is aaronburro the servant of BigMan157?
7/19/2013 3:50:33 PM
I think we could be more help if you record yourself giving a mock phone interview and then allow us to analyze it.
