My soft safety school was NCSU. My hard safety school was A&T.

A&T send me shit asking if I was going to attend halfway through my sophmore year, even after I sent the decline shit and deleted my page on their application shit. I wanted to be like "I only applied for your shit because my collage advisor told me to and she only told me too because I'm black. I guarantee you she didn't tell the white kids to apply there"

I guess Western lol. State rejected me out of high school and App waited until I was in orientation at ECU to tell me. Ended up doing a semester at ECU, then a semester and summer session as a lifelong student at NCSU and got in. Still graduated in 3.5 years leaving ECU was the best decision I ever made.

The way I always saw it was, you applied for somewhere that you're confident you'll get in (safety school) an iffy or 2 and then an outlandish one just for the fuck it. It doesn't matter which one you actually want to go to because the truth is you don't really have any concept of what college is like or what the actual differences will be when you're a retard high schooler and more importantly you'd probably do just fine at any of them unless you are a whiny cunt.

I only applied at NCSU and West Point. I knew even fully qualified I had a snowball's chance in hell of going to an Academy and I always wanted to go to state, just thought I'd try on the off chance I got in.

state was my first choice. i also was planning on applying to wilmington but i was accepted to state in december before i ever applied to wilmington.

so i guess wilmington would have been safety...i never got around to applying there though because i went the early admission route at state.

I guess Georgia Tech, although you could easily have subbed Johns Hopkins, BU, or W&L for them. I just considered GT the safest given how easy their app process was

I can't remember if I applied anywhere else. Wanting to be a vet at the time I may have only applied to State being the only accredited vet school in the state. I didn't stick to animal science, but I did end up working at a vet clinic for a little while between undergrad and grad school.

when I graduated from NC State w/ a master's in mathematics, I applied to the Ph.D. programs at (iirc)

Illinois, Texas, Cornell, Maryland, Johns Hopkins, NYU, Wisconsin and 3 other schools of similar caliber

and they all rejected me...that was awesome and wonderful

so I took a year off, obtained some original research results, and the next year was admitted to pretty damned good school (about on level with the lower of the above).

so I'm glad I didn't have a safety school, because then I'd be getting a doctorate from some piss-mediocre institution, which would make my career prospects mighty shitty right now.
