This guy takes off of work for an on the job injury, and his doctor's note says he has to be back to work in March. No normal person could get away with this skipping.

You don't have to come back and be an all star right away. Nobody expects that. Sitting out while your team is getting murdered for not having a pg and all of your teammates are actually injured makes you look like a big ole bitch.

Doesn't matter. He already said he felt great. He just didn't feel comfortable dunking off of his off foot so he wasn't going to come back until he could. He dunked off his off foot in early April and still hasn't returned. Its selfish to be picky waiting until you are back where you left off when your team just needs a warm body at this point.

All of this could have been avoided if he and the team came out publicly to say he will not be back this year. Instead they decided to intentionally dance around the subject and leave the thought of a small chance of playing open for the speculation & criticism that we are currently seeing. I'm not saying that he still wouldn't be criticized, but I think people would be more accepting to that than this mess.

This. I seriously doubt the Heat are losing sleep game planning for a potential Rose return, meanwhile he sits on the bench while the rest of his team is giving everything they have. At this point I can't see him coming back as anything beneficial for the Bulls, he hasn't played in a long time so he will be rusty and a playoff series with the best team in the league is not the time to try and knock the rust off.

i reject the notion that a 30 minute interview, edited into 5 minutes worth of soundbites, framed by a MEDIA whose narratives' primary function is to cultivate irrational attitudes of submission to authority can produce any worthwhile insight into a person's actual character. and even if it could, i don't believe an athlete's personality has anything to do with the value Sport has to offer. in the same way that Award Shows have nothing to do with Art and Politics has little to do with sound public policy, accusing Derrick Rose of softness, or stressing Dwight Howard's carcinogenic impact, or even extolling Tim Duncan's leadership is all incidental to Basketball. it's like the religious adherent who place the Institution over the faith.
