There was an accident at that intersection that happened really early this morning. It didn't seem especially ridiculous, but Cary PD had the intersection shut down for HOURS for an investigation. They closed the road in all directions leading up to the intersection.

There was no fatality (according to Cary), no pedestrian or bike involved, and it didn't seem to be the end of a police chase (there were no cops on scene when the wreck happened). All they would say was the police were conducting an investigation. PD had the intersection taped off with caution tape. They even had survey crews out there and I heard them request aerial shots.

Anyone work for Cary PD, or know what was going on? It was an odd situation for a wreck that seemed fairly benign.

Grrr... the major news outlets have stories on the 40 wreck but not the Cary one. I know the 40 one was a major highway and all, but the Cary one was a pain in the butt for lots of people.

Cary residents care, I'm sure. And I care, because I had to look at the damn thing all morning.

If it is Cary they are probably trying to find a lost VOIP router.

This sounds totally Cary-esque.

Cary is slow, ponderous, stupid, and sometimes actively malicious. So of course they're going to shut down a vital intersection for a few hours, if you give them the opportunity. Cary's road network hates you.

That's fairly common. They only report on a few roads and you'll never hear a thing if a road that's not on their short list is shut down.

Heard it on the radio today I think.

Two guys on a scooter hit a police car at about 3 am. The two guys died. The officer is in the hospital.
