The fad was sitting around watching TV while hoping MTV would play the video you wanted to watch. Now you can just watch whatever the hell you want on YouTube so of course they don't play videos anymore.

Music videos are still huge. We just watch them now on youtube on-demand, rather than waiting for hours watching MTV for your favorite one to come on.
