We were going to do the baseball field for ours but there was a winter league game on the field we were going to use. So we went to gibsonville instead.

Practice like you want to play!

Using gun safety rules at all times prevents bad habits!

I'll take the honest wackiness of some gun toting rednecks over the dumb faux-romantic shit most people do.

I should mention that I hadn't paid much attention to the quality of the photos themselves (the blurring is bizarre).

Posed wedding photos are the worst in general.

It seems that the photographer was going for a tilt-shift selective-focus effect for no reason but didn't have a tilt-shift lens so they crudely added it in editing.

i can dig an actual, good photographer doing them.

i don't like most posed photos that don't have a concept beyond "here are these people in this place"

i will say i really like the one on that site of the groom holding his dad's face, but of course that's the only one there that's not posed (out of the first ~30 i went through)

Baseball photo is kind of a fun concept. Bridesmaids-with-guns is pretty dumb (and why does one, and only one, groomsman also have one in the third photo? The oddity bothers me.) I also think boots and bridesmaids' dresses almost never work. This is further evidence to support my point.

We took some posed photos on the wedding day (mainly of the family and the wedding party) but the ones that I think will come out the best are the non-posed ones. We specifically wanted a photographer that expressed a preference against posed scenes and was more interested in capturing genuine moments as they happened. Whenever we get our photos back I guess I'll find out...

eh. i'm seeing lots of concepts at play. "here are these people in this place" seems pretty reductive.

Guns in wedding photos is about as tacky as it gets. It's right behind doing formal portraits while posing with a bottle liquor.

Also fingers on triggers and barrels pointed in the direction of others, seems like a great idea.

what's going on with the repeated, blurry layer at the top of the bottom pic? did they need to stretch it taller?

In the last photo it looks like a poor clone stamp job on the trees to cover up highlights from the sky. I don't know why they wouldn't have just cropped it in tighter to avoid it. Even better would have been to take note of your background before setting up the shot.

All the photos have that blur on them though, probably because they wanted the look of a selective focus lens but instead just did a half-ass attempt at doing it in iPhoto.

btw, that's not a baseball photo... It's a softball photo. Dude is insanely proud of being on a softball team. Although I do appreciate the double entendre of him pitching his ball at her...

Probably because dude was like "hey man, I got one in my truck, lemme go get it!!!!" and he was so sloshed they couldn't talk him out of it...

I feel like the baseball picture is an allegory.
At first glance we see the pitcher with his fiance happily striking at his balls, but we also have to consider the importance of the catcher in this relationship.
