for gas station reward cards, just leave them in your car. even though there might not be an app, still no need to carry in your wallet.

and even at places that can scan a phone, its faster for me to just enter my phone number. I have a fake phone number that I use at every store that is not tied to my name so they can't track my purchases.

i always wait until the total is up before i have my card scanned, so i can see what the difference is...a couple of weeks ago at food dog, it was ~$23

you're essentially handing them your personal information for marketing purposes in exchange for a discount on products...use gmail or other "free" services is actually worse, IMO, but i know what i'm giving and what i'm getting in return, so it's worth it
