I think the wingwalker, if you watch the bottom left at the end, bounces quite high and then MAYBE crawls just a little bit before the video turns off.

It might just be debris getting blown around though.

Reminds me of the guy that killed his wingwalking wife last year in a crash. Kyle and Amanda Franklin. They fell in love after both of their respective fathers were killed in a stunt-flying accident. He's back at it, and I assume looking to hire/marry a replacement.

maybe you only hear about air shows when someone dies, but it seems like a LOT of air shows end up having shit like this go on.

They are fucking planes, its not that awe inspiring or cool, its not the 1920s anymore. Its such a stupid, antiquated risk. "Hey, lets go to the man fights a lion with his bare hands show or the man gets exposed to polio without a vaccine show! it will be awesome!!"

I agree on it being their choice to assume these risks. It is pretty obvious that standing on an airplane is dangerous as were the maneuvers attempted by the pilot. It sucks that this happened but I guess if it is your time it might as well be doing something you love.

Yea, and for that matter cars are not magic anymore either. People senselessly die racing cars around a track all the time. Or even boats. Oh yea, and slamming into other people at football games. And a couple times I have seen people die at a baseball game. What a waste. I don't like it, so we should ban all of that. kkthxu sampfag

That said, this really sucks. I saw Jane performing in Winston-Salem at 2011. We got some really candid shots of them as Aurora (her Stearman) was sitting on the end of the flight line where we were, and she was just hanging around her plane a lot during the show. She even jumped on top for a bit to take pictures of some of the other performers. Very nice lady.

As to what happened, is it just me or did the guy kick the tail over a lot more than usual? Dad said Stearman 450s had a bad habit of acting up when you threw them over and some interesting stall characteristics. Charlie had flown this show a bunch, but when he began the maneuver he seemed a lot lower than what he was in my photos. Just speculation for now. I would like to see some more still shots instead of video to see what was going on more before he bought the farm.

So the Reno Air Races are a worthwhile endeavor, but performing at an airshow is not? Really? Sorry, but the real reason for football, baseball, airshows, cheerleading, racing, or whatever is for entertainment. I don't derive any less pleasure from knowing a score is not being kept at an airshow, circus, or Seaworld show than I do from watching a football game.

^That's the same dude who crashed and killed his wife, btw. Engine quit while she was wing walking, if I remember. He was actually lucky it quit when he was high enough to recover somewhat.
