Well they just lost a ton of revenue with the Xbone doing a 180. That's why they got rid of online passes because MS was going to fix that.
Plus http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/11/12/why-they-dont-take-boycotts-seriously/, so people will moan and groan but line up to throw their money at them

Something tells me that EA wet themselves when thinking of the possibilities of charging $80 per game and using MS's new subscription box.
Charging a higher price probably won't translate into more money for them. I know I'd never spend $70 or $80 on a game, I'll just (easily) do without.
Edit: With all the DLC tack ons that are all the rage now I'm sure the goal they've set is to get $100 on average from each individual game purchase.
In semi-related news... EA just lost their exclusive rights to the NCAA and NFL, correct? Any other developers out there plan on doing anything in the sports game category as a result?

UK prices are always higher, mostly because taxes (which is like 20% at least for imports) are included in the advertised sale price instead of added on at purchase.

Games in the future will all be free. No, seriously.
You'll just have to spend money for "add-ons" and other shit that will help advance game play.
No, seriously. 7/17/2013 2:56:54 PM |

I predict that within 100 years, computers will be twice as powerful, ten thousand times larger, and so expensive that only the five richest kings of Europe will own them. 7/17/2013 3:05:13 PM |

I rank this prediction right alongside the "PC gaming is dying" prediction.
Free to play games will definitely become more common, but as long as there is a market for games that you just buy and play then people will keep making them.7/18/2013 12:13:13 AM |
