Which one do you pick? I realize a lot of it probably comes down to personal preference.
I'd go with a tie between Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. Hot and muggy. Not many breezes to cut the heat. Almost zero chance of snow ever.
North Carolina is probably 5th or 6th.

I'd have to say Nevada, Utah, parts of Colorado, and Alaska. I'm pretty sure if you can sit down and die because you've been exposed to the areas average climate then it ranks near the top.

Arizona. Your balls freeze at night, and roast during the day.

Those day to day extremes can be rough. At least when it's 10 degrees outside, I can put on more layers. When it's 90 degees and 95% humidity, I can be naked and still suffer.

LOL, I'm going to assume you meant 5th or 6th best.

Also, I was thinking more along the lines of 110+ with 0% humidity. Places so miserable even trees won't grow there. Death from rapid dehydration/exposure is a real threat in a lot of places. Not so much a threat in NC, or anywhere in the south except Texas, where you can pretty much drink the air.

And as for cold, there's no layering that can save you from temps below -10 I'd take sweaty balls to losing fingers to hypothermia any day.

I'd rather be working outside on the gulf coast when it's hot and humid than working up north when it's freezing cold with a heavy wind. I can cool off from being out in the heat in an hour or so; I can spend hours trying to warm back up after being in freezing cold weather and still not feel right.

I liked the dry heat of being out west; it felt a lot cooler than the hot humid days here do, you're not covered in sweat, and the heat killed off all the bugs.

I bet that I could work outside a lot longer in 110° and 10% humidity than I could in 90° and 80% humidity.

I too would have to say Alabama since they can get hurricanes, tornadoes, and lots of other random stuff.

Oklahoma wins. I was out there for 2.5 years and experienced the following:

Tornadoes
Earthquakes
Large Hail (at least golfball to baseball size)
Flash flooding
Blizzards
Ice storm
Tropical storm force sustained winds (usually with dry cold front passage)
Heat waves of 100+F temps that last several weeks
50+ degree shifts in temperatures occurring over a few hours

I would say the states in tornado alley. Hot as balls in the summer. Cold in the winter. And fuck some tornadoes. We at least know when a hurricane is gonna hit
