Hey guys, well I haven't gone out in Raleigh in a LONG time so I need some advice! A friend and I are planning to hit up Glenwood Ave on Saturday night. What are some nice bars/clubs that have a dance floor? You know, young professional type of places. Preferably NO COVER.

PS does anyone want to come?

I don't even know where you would park that requires you to pay downtown at night assuming you don't leave your car downtown

save your time and go to Durham or a movie. Raleigh sucks for clubs, worst city ever.

C_Grace is kind of neat. Speakeasy vibe, usually live music on Saturday nights (Jazz kind of stuff) and handcrafted drinks.

I recently re-visited Glenwood South with a group that wanted to spend the evening there.

I forgot about how car loads of dudes in 10-20 year old luxury cars on chrome rims drive by with their heads hanging out the window; creepily staring at the girls in your group as a dog would stare at a piece of steak on a man's plate.

I think I'm good on that strip for another 5-7 years.

C Grace is nice. Drinks are expensive though, but its an interesting athmosphere they cater to. Old style speakeasy. Make sure you go when they have live music (jazz).

Definitely check out C Grace for their drinks, speakeasy vibe, and live music (jazz).

I heard C Grace has good drinks and a speakeasy vibe. There's also live music (jazz).

You should go to Fayetteville st instead. There are plenty of places to dance, drink or do both.

People love the hive and architect for some reason. HIt up royal James, neptunes, foundation

There's an 80s themed club called coglins /sp? And lots of others

C grace is a bar, not a club. there isn't really a dance floor. i mean old people get up and sort of hobble together but it's not a club

My wife and I went to C Grace the last time we went out. It was the best place we hit on Glenwood.

I hear that Coglin's is nice and has lots of shitty 80's posters on the wall.

if you want an upscale dance club, you don't have many options. this is speaking as a heavy dancer but being 1 year removed from raleigh. solas, mosaic, SOMETIMES the hive though the crowd and space are both usually overwhelming, noir and still-life both go through the motions but are actually terrible places with terrible people.

I find the best dancing at live shows at pour house, lincoln theater, or underground-ish spots like 5star and neptunes/kings. there are lots of upscale bars where folks are dressed up for drinks but they tend to be top 40 death traps
