I shave maybe twice a year. I clean it up every week. Been this way for almost a decade.

I saw a guy working at the Walmart deli counter wearing a beard hairnet this weekend. I guess I should have realized such a thing existed, but I'd never thought about it before.

I was asked the other day if I was trying to be like a duck dynasty character. I said fuck no I'm just to lazy to shave. My wife likes a trimmed up beard most times but I didn't want to be compare to those morons so I shaved. But you best believe I won't shave in november

Pretty sure it's mandatory to grow facial hair if you live in Asheville. That goes for men and women.

I, too, feel a great disturbance in the force. We had one older engineering/fabrication guy who's had a mountain man beard for ages. Now within the past few months we have enough guys running around at work who are a couple plaid shirts short of an Ax Men episode.

I've got a pretty good beard going right now since last august. Its a convenience thing and I think it looks good.

The real clowns are the ones trying to act like beards are anything new.

If you can grow a beard, why not grow a beard?

It's not like people can fake it*, so I have a hard time seeing as a fad, especially considering that throughout history people of all walks of life have had beards. We aren't talking about bell-bottoms or beats heaphones here... The shit grows out of your face and is the natural state of things.

People that say you need to shave it to fit in are just as bad as the ones that grow one just to fit in.

*Can we at least agree that facial hair transplants are the real enemy here? Please, think of the children.

I've had beards on and off for a long time, subject to the requirements of employment. The current one began three years ago. I grew it because men in my family frequently do, because I don't enjoy shaving, and because with my weak-ass chin I look better with one.

I didn't even realize that there was a huge beard fad in America until I read this:

http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-27023992

And discovered that I had been in Africa while beards were in style and would probably get back to America about the time they became repulsive. Sounds like my luck.

For the second winter in a row I've got a beard. But I only keep it till March at the latest. It's too F'ing hot in NC during the summer for me to have a beard then.

^ winner!

I have gone with a single sunday shave weekly for a few years ... finally stopped shaving it in November, and planning to let it go for another few months.

Wifey hates it, but I could give a shit.
