The two aren't really comparable. I have basicallyno followers and I pretty much only follow sports and comedy accounts. Good for constant laughs and keeping me up to date on sports without checking 15 different sites

I have an account, but it's just for promotions that require retweets of things (like free stuff in games I play or tickets to parties). I've also used it for some cool social media analytics stuff at work. I think I've made 1 tweet on my own and it was to nominate something for the sportscenter top 10

Yeah, I think people still don't 'get' Twitter. I didn't until maybe the whole Occupy thing.

It started off as another outlet for mundane individual self promotion, but it's much faster than a lot of mainstream media outlets.

No, the idiot news organizations that pick up random tweets as evidence without investigating are the source of misinformation.

Twitter information is only as good as the individuals delivering the tweets.

It all depends on who you follow.

Facebook, to me, is much more personal. It's a great way to connect with old friends, share pics, etc. But most of the people I'm friends with on fb, I really don't care that much about. The people I do care about, I generally keep up with them in real life. For twitter, I can keep up with sports/news etc 24/7. I follow a few of my closer friends, but I don't follow people that I don't care to keep up with. Keeps my timeline more in line with what I care about. I prefer it to facebook. I hardly use facebook anymore.
