Construction of the Orange to Red route proceeds as planned until workers uncover a massive Indian Burial Site from an, as yet undocumented, Mississippian culture. A majority of Garner is condemned/seized after the UN declares the area a World Heritage Site. 10/15/2013 9:36:21 AM |

Damn, I know some people that just bought a house in the blue&orange area. That would suckkkkkk if 540 went through their backyard, or worse. 10/15/2013 9:36:35 AM |

Lets go all China and build them all then turn the areas in the middle into a forest of highrise towers, shopping malls and business districts then wait for the people to come.

Red wont happen. Enough lawsuits otherwise plus half of dot will get fired.
Why the f do they change colors halfway through a line? Like Purple and blue?
orange>purple/blue>orange (at 70bypass) > brown 10/15/2013 1:30:47 PM |

maybe it's broken down into stages of construction?
also, I don't think purple/blue links back into orange at the 70 bypass. I think it's purple-blue-light purple--> then either green-mint-brown-green OR green-teal-brown-green OR brown-tan-brown-green OR just brown or just green.
Which just equals an ugly plaid.

I'm going with the Orange/brown/green route as well. might go orange/red/green but I think that'll be a little too far north for them. They'll want to have it a little more south.
No basis for that reasoning, just pulling it out of my butt 10/15/2013 5:16:33 PM |

you're right about the purple/blue not linking back to orange... also, it's all one construction period - the purple to blue transition is a holdover from previous alternatives where it broke there... and since this is the continuation of a previous study, they have to keep the same colors - so as not to confuse, ha

red would cut like 15 minutes off that drive. otherwise, you might as well cut through town to get from knightdale to apex.
