What the hell? Oh, way, Greenville. Right. I live in a complex with identical buildings. Why my place? I don't have shit to steal... not that would be obvious to anyone, anyway.

He/she/it broke off a piece of metal from a planter and sliced/tore off the screen before trying to pry the window open. Can't figure out if he wasn't trying very hard or if I scared him off when I let the cats out.

At any rate, no sleep tonight or in the foreseeable future. Scared.

^^^ We have means for protection, but it is still unnerving as hell. Never felt threatened like this before.

^^ I didn't hear it, which is also creepy because I am really aware at night and wake up at the smallest sounds.

Happened to me when I lived in Rocky Mount. Came back from being gone one Thanksgiving weekend to find my duplex ransacked and all electronics, loose money (wasn't huge amounts, just change and some Canadian notes), and my bedsheets (presumably to help carry some things) gone. The guys that did it I think were smart, they didn't break down doors, smash windows, or nothing to draw attention to themselves. They cut one of the back windows' screens, broke the lock on a window, and came in that way.
