Sadly RIP G8

Leaving work today I spot a unicorn in the wild. White Audi R8 V8 5.2. I swerve in and out of traffic to get a better look at it. I pull up next to him, give him the thumbs up and a head nod. A mile later traffic clears out and I slow down to get beside him, look over at him and he gives me a nod, I slide it into kill mode and floor it.....he leaves me like I'm in park.


That car is so beautiful.

my street competitions are very limited, as the situation tends to go "up in smoke" in a hurry.

...I absolutely love the situations where I'm traveling uphill, high rpms, converter unlocked, the boost needle is past 12 o clock and there's a slight haze coming from the exhaust - then ITS GO TIME.

Back a month or so ago when I had the loaner Cayman S from the dealership I was trying to figure out how it's launch control works. So when I was at a traffic light on 54 in Cary I was revving the engine a lot (with my foot on the brake) trying to get it to engage. It didn't, b/c I didn't have the car in Sport+ mode. However, when the light turned green the Chrysler minivan next to me peeled a wheel and took off! Guess he thought I was trying to get him to race, lol. Passed him easily after short shifting into 2nd.

Killed!

either one of us could put his car on a trailer, tow it to the track, and get better mpg than his car could by itself. then once at the track leave his car on the trailer which is still hooked to the truck and run a better e.t. than his car could by itself.
