How do they usually operate?

Like, small time buying cartons from the store, and running up to DC or NY in their car?

Truckers loading up from several stores?

Selling to connex like gas stations? Individuals?

I used to work at Sam's club in the tobacco cage and they would buy cartons upon cartons and drive them up to NY to sell in convenience stores.

If you know someone who has their CDL but only seems to stay employed with the same long haul for a few weeks out of the year before "getting tired of the company", then gets a similar route with a different company a few months later, chances are you know a cross country smuggler.

if you want to be a real life mob-boss, i'd suggest you move to Henrico or Winston Salem at one of the floor spots at RJR or whatever Philip Morris got renamed to, get a job in production control, get your CDL and make the occasional south-north haul from time to time on the weekends moving whatever and just let things fall where they may.


despite what you may hear, training dogs to differentiate AMOUNTS of a substance is hard indeed and to get busted you'll probably have to piss off a weigh station captain... or wreck

i actually used to know a few when I worked at a truck stop.

2 were bus drivers from Miami who went back and forth to NY every week...the others were a Ukranian couple from NY who came down here every 2 weeks or so...

the law was you could buy 299 cartons/day...

they would each buy their limit in Marlboros at our store because we were a dealer and sold them on the cheap...then they would go to the next truck stop up the road and do the same thing with Winstons...so basically they would leave with 50+ cases of cigarettes to sell

they would buy them here for $20/carton and sell them in NY for $70/carton

they paid for everything in fives, tens, and twenties...

one friday night all 4 came...i had roughly $25,000 in nothing bigger than a $20 bill

i just wanted to throw it on the floor and roll around in it
