Probably because hardly anyone even knows about the spill, not a single major network has reported on it

haha nice

I really need it to drop back down a bit though...I should have added back in what I sold earlier this week when it got down to 2.80ish

I sold another block at 3.08 to avg my cost up a little in case it doesn't drop much further than I was hoping

^Nice

I dont have near as much into it as you. Had a little bit of cash laying around so i said why not, back when you originally brought it up.

My other shares are low enough that i will hold for the long haul.

3.25 after hours...wtf? I'm ready for this to tank again

I've got ~6,000 shares that I bought back in April between 0.53 and 0.62...pretty good return there so far lol

here's a recent video with a good quick overview of ino

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFqnIWtElm0

they have so many upcoming catalysts it's ridiculous

IF their phase II results come back this summer positively, all of those catalysts could seriously push it to like $10 by end of year....IF (which I happen to think they have a good chance of doing)

they've had great (some best in class) results in many of their pre-clinical trials so far and that would just validate their overall platform

What expertise do you have that you can evaluate whether a trial was good or not? You do realize you are just gambling, right?

I interviewed with a pre-IPO medical device company that said if I landed the job I'd be a millionaire on all the stock options I'd be granted when they went public with an FDA approved product. They were also convinced that the approval was a foregone conclusion and they were starting to hire for that inevitability. I was never more excited about a potential job and never more devastated when they said someone else had a more relevant skillset.

They closed up shop less than a year later when the FDA wanted more trials and the investors got tired of waiting.

INO will be that company (maybe not in a year, but eventually). And they'll have your money.

Make no mistake about it, this is called the Stock Market in 2014 thread, not the investing thread. Everybody in here is gambling and is okay with that. I just wish I had some free capital to join in on the fun

I would like to think everyone in here knows that any investment is gambling and especially biotech startups. I think if you aren't at least putting a little gambling money aside for fun while you are younger then investing isnt nearly as fun. As long as you arent counting on a stock like that with a huge portion of your portfolio then speculating isnt a bad thing.

after this action dries up in the next couple of days you would think it'll nosedive and fill in the gaps at 3.20-3.40, maybe even the one at 2.90-3 if it tanks hard enough

pretty sure this run is mainly due to shorts covering

I sold again earlier at 3.62 and now at 3.92....is it done yet?????? I've sold about 2/3 of my position so far, surely this has to tank soon, right?

it's been a pretty sweet run so far...getting into 10-bagger territory with some of my positions from last April

I will admit that a couple of months ago when I sold off a pretty large portion of shares from my phone (first time doing so) I fucked up and sold the OLDEST/cheapest lots first..screwing myself out of quite a bit with cap gains tax, won't make that mistake again

the momentum finally died off and there was a nice steady drop after lunch today

anyone else planning to add back in if you sold off over the last few days? since I sold that really large lot at 2.99, I need it to get back to around 3 to make it worthwhile....I made up for it a little bit selling throughout the run up

I do think that it'llget to that point in the next few days (hoping for a sharp selloff tomorrow morning), but I think a new base will steady out around 3.20ish

^^^to make up for the cap gains tax...I sold when it got to around $3 only because I thought it was going back down again and I was just trying to play the movement and accumulate shares, but I obviously failed miserably. Like i've said I'm riding this one into the ground haha...I am definitely buying back what I've sold once it bottoms out

basically, the ~$3 mark is what it would take for me to come out ahead as far as accumulated shares vs taxable gains is concerned...I sold approx the same # of shares at 2.99 as from 3.10ish through 3.90ish

^^oh it's coming...make no mistake, I will be back 100% ino in just a few more days

let me get this straight. You are convinced that the stock will go to $10 but yet you still try to pick up pennies in front of a steamroller? You arent trying to time the market - you are trying to time a thinly traded stock. If there is one universally accepted truth of investing - it's that no one can successfully time the market. quit while you are ahead or leave your money in until it hits 10.

So you're convinced it will be $10-$20+ this year, but are trying to earn every *more* money by sell/buy day-trading the stock to make a couple extra bucks?

[Edited on February 25, 2014 at 8:46 PM. Reason : ^ yeah pretty much that]

They're all short term gains if you've held less than a year. Should be selling LIFO not FIFO

god tesla pisses me
off. I bought at like 155. Went up to 190 then down 120 so i tripled down few weeks ago at 128 bc I had $300 price target prediction originally. Panicked like a little bitch when it hit 160 now watching it hit 240 almost instantly.

My coworker rode my tail on it at like 180 on the first run up and didn't sell on the way down or up. pisses me off

Jsncc spit some truth in here. I bought in at an avg of 2.20. Sold 1/2 of my shares at 3.50 yesterday and I'm holding the rest to see if it beats $5 sometime.

couple of questions:

1) can all of long term capital loss from previous years rollover to offset short term capital gain this year or is there a cap? (barring there is other long term capital gain or short term capital loss)

2) what are people's thought on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. anyone gambling on those two? is the recent runup due to just what Ackerman said and do people believe government has to release control (PPS goes up) or will government kill it (PPS goes to nill). which one will prevail?
