Most of my family went to a mini family gathering about 2 hours away. My cousins are headed to a pitbull concert in Miami. My fallback girl is going to a "family party".

AKA it's looking like ill probably roll solo to the hard rock casino hotel and blow 500 dollars on drugs, booze and blackjack.

I'm not sure yet. Last year, I was hanging out at a lounge in Adams Morgan. The year before, at a club near downtown - Ultra Bar.

So far for this year, I just have dinner planned with some friends, and we will figure something out after that.

I forgot that I promised a friend I'd bartend for him a couple months ago.

Was pissed...but now I'm happy because I don't have to go out with my wife and her teacher friends downtown tonight. I got stuck with them last year and it was painful (one dude, my wife, and 3 pathetic single 30 somethings that can't say two words to a guy at a bar and 2 other married women who just want to talk about their babies). I dodged a bullet.

And the net profit for the night will probably be around $500 or $600.

^^ Can you get a cab? Years back I planned on using one and I could never get through to one, let alone find one to come pick me up. I made dozens of calls to various companies and none of them were even answering the phone. Ended up bumming a ride from some folks we met at Jackpot earlier that night. Raleigh is a very different city now, but I'd probably try to have a backup plan just to be safe.

And if you're planning on taking a cab tonight, you might want to go ahead and fork out a few extra bucks and get one reserved (a nice one...good luck "reserving" a yellow cab type company). If not...find an older friend with a loser 16 year old kid that doesn't have any plans tonight and make them drive. Catching a cab on New Years Eve is a nightmare.

We had no plans, but a friend invited us over to a kid friendly party in their yard. We had a campfire, roasted marshmallows for s'mores and set off lots of fireworks. For the parents there was a lot of beer, wine, and some of the smoothest apple hooch ever. Fun times and still home by 9:30.

wild night. went from a house party in Treymoor (wealthy North Raleigh neighborhood) to my friend's co-workers party. My friend failed to tell me that it was a Mexican friend who worked in the kitchen at Olive Garden. So yeah, we ended up at a straight up Mexican fiesta filled with underage kids all over the place while we were all dressed up and older than everyone by 5+ years. They were blasting Mexican music like you would hear at a restaurant and only a few spoke English. They turned out to be really nice and accommodating for the next part of the story:

Couldn't get a cab. A girl with us ended up getting wasted and dancing and making out with a bunch of dudes, then we found her balled up in the fetal position on the deck and she wouldn't go inside so we got her a blanket, she ended up throwing up on herself and fucking rolling all in it purposely and screaming at us at the top of her lungs because we couldn't find said cab, screamed some more, spit at people and ended up telling us she hated us all and called her mom to get her (she's 27).

Side note: my friend went to the "VIP party" at Stillife and some dude hit him in the face for accidentally bumping into him and then ran. My buddy (big dude) tried to chase him but the bouncers wrapped him up and ended up fracturing his ankle throwing him out. He couldn't find a cab so he walked 9 miles home to North Raleigh on a fractured ankle.

tl;dr - Raleigh needs more cab companies, or at least more drivers on NYE.

I wont get into past "performances" from her but, yes, she is college educated (UNCW and currently attends NCSU for graduate classes - note not accepted to a program) but she is also pretty much insane when she drinks. I have other stories about her but we went to high school together and I think the copious amounts of acid she did in college had a lot to do with who she is today.

Example: she believes that her apartment is haunted and she was "raped by an incubus" ghost. I can't make this shit up.

i went to this concert. had some real trippy fun and caught a ride to my friends house with a buddys girlfriend right after the show. i crashed around 5 am on his couch but it was cold as shit in there and i couldnt sleep any more. i left his house to go home around 730 am. when i got home i walked in and there was some guy and this chick in my bed (friends of my roommates). i had never met either of them. i walked in my room, saw them and was like oh shit and walked out. i guess i woke them up. the guy leaves the house and apologizes for staying in my room right after this, and said my roommate told him it was cool. i was like whatever man no big deal, and he leaves. i go into my room and fucked the girl in my bed for like 6 hours. i still dont know her name but it was awesome.
