I, too, loved these games, but I got into them when they were point and click rather than typing commands. King's Quest V was my first but the Space Quest series was my favorite. Space Quest IV was a masterpiece, I just loved how it broke the fourth wall all the time. Quest for Glory 4 was also great, it had really good music and atmosphere. 1/10/2014 12:34:09 PM |

i loved these games so much
i recently got back into the style of game on the iPad (and I hardly play video games in general)
some that I can recommend are:
• Monkey Island 2: SE • Tales of Monkey Island • Back to the Future • Kaptain Brawe (VERY Space Quest-ish) • Machinarium
A couple that are similar that I've enjoyed are:
• #sword and sorcery (haven't beaten it yet, tho... SO MUCH WALKING AROUND) • Year Walk 1/10/2014 12:52:18 PM |

somewhere on the internet is an emulator of all the old Sierra games. I played the fuck out of some Kings Quest and Space Quest a while back when I was bored at work for like a week straight. 1/10/2014 1:06:38 PM |

My brother and I played KQIV during one christmas break and almost beat it. However, we couldn't get down the goddamn cliff with the unicorn to save our lives.
I also beat SQ I after it took me about 4 years to figure out (in that sporadic, off-and-on computer gaming that you got with 3 siblings) you could leave the first ship by getting in an escape pod.
Two of my fave games all time are Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. 1/14/2014 7:41:50 PM |

My mother played this back in the day. I remember watching her play it. One time she saved the game. I believe it was near a cliff or something, perhaps an icy road? Anyways, she stopped her character near the ledge, saved the game, and when it returned her character fell off the cliff. She would reload the saved game and immediately her character fell off the cliff. She was soooo pissed. She never played another computer game after that, except Mario is Missing on PC. 1/14/2014 7:46:43 PM |

Space Quest was the best series ever. 3 was my favorite. I think 5 was the one where you were in a space station with giant lava lamps and you destroyed it with sea monkeys or something.
All of these games were gold. 1/15/2014 7:59:27 AM |

^SQ5 was the one where you were the captain of your own ship (the garbage collection ship). I never made it too far though, I destroyed that robot bounty hunter WD-40 but I couldn't figure out how to stop the self destruct in her ship.
I just remembered btw that in SQ4 you travel back in time to SQ1 and everything is in EGA graphics and looks horrible except for Roger Wilco, hahaha. Fun fact, on the VGA remake of SQ1, right when you leave the cantina area you see the time pod thing with Roger in it materialize from SQ4.
Also, did anyone else memorize all the answers to the opening Leisure Suit Larry questions so that you can get the full adult content? 1/15/2014 10:52:47 AM |

yep, you put the monkeys into your drink and they kept multiplying so you had to save your engineer and teleport off before they exploded the spacebar.

this part was a pain. basically had to keep clicking the knobs until you got lucky and the panels opened up to steal the cloaking device.1/15/2014 11:02:07 AM |
