I have an iPhone 4s that is mostly new that my brother had from his previous employer and he passed it on to me. I'm wondering if it's blacklisted or in any way set to be blocked from having service put on it. It's with AT&T so that's who I tried to get that information from, but apparently since the phone wasn't originally in my name I can't find anything out about it. I mean, I even tried to say "I'm thinking about buying this phone... while I was looking at it I wrote down the serial number so I could call you guys (att) and check to make sure it wasn't stolen or anything. Their best answer was that I could try to get service on it and at that time they could tell me whether or not it had any kind of blocks or unpaid balances etc...
Is there any way I can find this shit out for myself??

I didn't think you could block GSM stuff, but I may be wrong. That's pretty shady that they wouldn't give you the status. 1/17/2014 10:50:44 AM |

Yes, if you can pop a sim into the phone and make a phone call, its not blacklisted. 1/17/2014 1:23:29 PM |

@Tarun I'm not worried I just want to sell the thing on ebay or something and I don't want anything to come back and bite me in the ass.. I mean he didn't call the company he worked for and ask them if they happened to make any claims to whether he should have the phone or not... they bought it for him, he never activated it, he got another job and didn't want it so I used it as an ipod for the trips I took over the holidays and now I'd like to sell it. 1/17/2014 11:41:32 PM |
